About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I had the recall for the unintended tailgate opening fixed at the dealer in July of 2020. However on multiple occasions I noticed the the tailgate would open unintentionally. I thought it was my key fob in my pocket getting activated, but soon dismissed that theory. The tailgate would sometimes open when I am shifting from Park to Drive. Several times it would open when I release the E brake. I have contacted the dealer, but all they can offer is " we'll take a look at it"

Unattended tailgate. Tail gate opens on its own after safety recall was preformed. Dealer can't reproduce issue. Tail gate opens randomly. My tail gate is damaged. Ford refusing to solve issue. I read an article about your Agency having same complaints after recall was performed. It seems to happen right when I start the truck and put into drive or reverse.

Had tailgate recall done in February 2020. Tailgate continues to open on its own. Dealer can't find the problem. Recent incident 11/9/2020 tailgate opened twice while on road and damaged 5th wheel camper cargo door. Vehicle at dealer 3 days couldn't get tailgate to repeat incident. Advised nothing they can do. Prior to leaving dealer tailgate wouldn't open. Recall fix has not worked. I searched internet and found numerous others who are having same problem.
