I was driving my truck with no prior issues nor check engine light warnings, suddenly my truck began to lose speed, warning light came on instrument panel stating something to the effect of reduced power, I heard a loud noise (similar to the sound of a tire blown), as I looked out of the drivers side window I observed flames coming from the left front fender well. I was able to pull out of traffic coasting off into the median. Once in the median My wife and myself had to evacuate the truck immediately for our own safety. the engine compartment was rapidly becoming fully involved with fire. Attempted to extinguish fire with three fire extinguishers, called 911 and waited on fire department to arrive. My truck is now a total lose, I have read that your department has received similar issues that I have described.I felt it necessary to report my issue to hopefully help resolve this issue with Ford trucks.

My wife and children we driving when smoke appeared from the engine area, the engine warning lights came on and the engine lost power, the cab filled with smoke from the vents as she got the truck to the side of the road and used one fire extinguisher that we had in the truck others came and helped extinguish with water as well as police and fire dept. A police report is filed as well as a insurance claim and I have asked for a fire investigation, there is a serious problem with this vehicle. Note: This vehicle was just at 5 star ford for recall updates and no issues were noted.

Unstable driving at 50 mph after small road unevenness. (death wobble) almost hit a vehicle while driving on highway 52 in puerto rico. Took it to the dealer and provided with a fix but the problem persist increasingly. Also, computer code P2074 for a 2019 unit. Oil leaking from the left front side of the upper crankcase. Have an appointment at the dealer on March 08, 2021. Dealer informed, upfront, that there is no permanent solution for the so call death wobble unless Ford issues a re-call and provides it.

At 23,000 miles my truck started shaking violently while traveling down the freeway at 60 miles per hour. It was shaking so violently that I lost control of steering completely. The only way to stop the shaking was to slam on my brakes in traffic before I hit the highway divider. My research tells me it is the death wobble. It shook something loose in my diesel engine, because the engine is knocking now. On the way home I stayed on the service road and kept the truck under 45 miles per hour. It happened again at 45 miles per hour, so I started driving at 30mph to try and make it home. It happened 3 more times at 30 mph. I discovered that it starts shaking when I go over the slightest bump in the road. It shakes so violently it throws me around in the seat and I cannot hang onto the steering wheel. I have to come to a complete stop when it happens before it will stop shaking. Once I come to a complete stop I can start accelerating again without it shaking. As soon as I drive over a bump in the road the shaking starts again. It is extremely dangerous, because I loose total control of the truck, and I am a 6 foot muscular man. No matter how hard I try I cannot hang onto the steering wheel. Now I understand why they call it the death wobble. It is very dangerous.
