F-250 6.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles

Slowly over time, the truck's fuel system would lose pressure if it sat for several days without being started. Slowly this transformed into shorter and shorter periods where the truck was not started. This would result in a hard start with unnecessary cranking duration from the truck while the pressure was built up, or it would simply crank over the full duration of the cranking cycle and not start. It would always start up on the second crank. This started to prematurely wear on my starter and became very annoying. The trucks fuel pump and filter were replaced under extended warranty to fix the problem.

This is not a diesel engine; it's on the 6.2L gas engine.
