While driving this 2019 F-250 truck, all of a sudden the truck began to shake violently. Not only the whole truck, but the steering wheel was shaking violently as well. I was scared to death. This has happened on the interstate where I was in the left lane passing a tractor trailer and no sooner did I get passed then my truck began this "Death Wobble." I had no place to pull over to my left, so I had to pull right in front of the truck that I just passed, braking as hard as I could while moving to the right shoulder. An extremely dangerous situation. I can only imagine if this had happened to my wife! Fortunately, I had read about this condition prior to it happening. My truck only has 15,000 miles on it. This Death Wobble has been around since 2005 on Ford F-250 trucks, yet Ford and their dealers seem to pretend that they know nothing about it. And yes, I have had this safety hazard occur several times. This is a very serious safety issue. You have no warning lights or signals that the death wobble is imminent. I can even reproduce it if need be. It has happened several times since December 2021. You can see many incidents of this by either searching on line or by going to YouTube and typing in Death Wobble.

I believe there may be a defect in either the steering or front suspension system. when traveling at 70 MPH or higher the vehicle will violently shake and feels as if the tires are bouncing off the pavement when the truck drives over an expansion joint on an overpass. The bouncing/ shaking escalates within seconds and feels as if the truck will destroy itself. the truck needs to be stopped for the bouncing to stop and feels as if there is very little control over the steering of the vehicle. the problem is reproduced frequently and i have had to lower my speed before reaching overpasses. The vehicle will be scheduled for a service soon. The dealer mentioned something about adding a steering dampener to resolve the issue. there are no warning lamps or alarms. The issue would happen daily if i did not reduce my speed. The issue is serious especially if there are others on the highway and you need to stop quickly to get the vehicle under control. The first time the issue appeared was at about 36000 miles and is more frequent now at 40,000 miles.

I have experienced the death wobble/steering shaking issue with my 2019 F250 previously, but the latest incident was the worst as it happened while towing my camper. I was initially driving at around 60mph, drove over a small bump and the wobble started. The only way I know of to stop the wobble is to slow down immediately to around 25mph, this is very dangerous obviously as you have less control due to the wobbling, and quickly slowing down on a busy four lane highway endangers others. The steering did the same wobble six times during my 150 mile trip, one time so severe I could not see straight as the vehicle was wobbling so hard. I purchased my truck around a year ago with 26k miles, it now has around 36k miles - no where near enough miles in my opinion for the steering components to be worn out. I have experienced the issue since I purchased the truck, I had not fixed it myself as I was waiting for the manufacturer to issue a recall and fix the truck.

I was driving on an interstate at 80mph when I hit a bump in the road. This happened on December 15, 2021. The front end of my truck went into a horrendous death wobble. I immediately slowed down and pulled to the side and stopped. When I started back on the interstate the front end was fine. I purchased this as a used truck on November 9, 2021. I then was driving on a county road at 50mph, hit a bump and the front end again went into a horrendous death wobble. This happened on February 7, 2022. I was able to slow down, pull into a median and stop. As before, pulling back onto the road the truck was fine.

While driving around a curve the vehicle started to violently shake to the point you could not control the vehicle. Lucky i was not meeting any on coming traffic and was able to take up both lanes until I could get the vehicle stopped. The second time this occurred, I was driving down a road and when I went over some rubble strips in the road, the vehicle began to violently shake once again.

After riding over a pothole on Interstate 24 with left front tire, vehicle began to shake violently and continued to shake until able to slow the vehicle below 20mph. This incident repeated further down the highway. Vehicle control was extremely difficult during onset and braking seems to make vehicle harder to control.

Truck steering started wobbling out of control at 60 to 65 mph after running over a small pot hole on freeway. Could not gain control of truck. It force me into on coming traffic. I almost had a head on crash into another vehicle. This needs to be addressed by Ford (very dangerous.) I am afraid to let wife drive this very exspensive vehicle. (over $80K). Ford must do something before someone gets killed. They know about this issue. There are many reports online about it. They just will not do anything or do a proper repair

Upon exiting from the highway at an approximate speed of 55mph in my 2019 Ford F250, I experienced a SEVERE case of what is commonly known as the "death wobble." I was essentially unable to control the vehicle in both braking and steering capacities, so much so that we ended partially in the grass median before regaining safe control. This again happened on the return trip home. So far I have been unable to obtain what I feel like is a satisfactory answer from the Ford dealership from whom I purchased the vehicle. In a 2 year old truck with under 50,000 miles I feel that this (especially being a known issue) should be a recalled item. I have never had a vehicle that I feel this unsafe driving in. The amount of jarring we experienced and the fact that I had little to no control at highway speeds is EXTREMELY unnerving.

When hitting a bump or hole in the road, sometimes the tires and steering wheel start to shake violently. I have to slow down considerably before the shaking stops. After that, the truck runs normal until I hit another hole or bump. What happens is identical to the "death wobble" experienced with Ford F250.

I was driving my F250 Super Duty at a highway speed of 76 mph with the cruise set. Truck has just over 21K miles and is a 2019 model. I drifted slightly onto the rumble strip of the highway and the truck went into the Ford Death Wobble. It is the first and only time it-??s happened since buying the truck new. This happened on Monday 1/24/2022. It was shocking how violently the steering started shaking! I had to slow down to 35 mph before it stopped. I plan to contact my local dealer (where I purchased new) to set up service to report and address. However after reading about this ongoing issue I felt compelled to report the issue on your site. Most everything I-??m reading reports Ford has yet to put out a recall to properly address. However I did find a TSB that I will reference with the dealer when I take it in. My truck is still under remainder of factory warranty and has not had any modifications or aftermarket parts installed since purchasing it new. Tires/wheels and all suspension components are what came with on it at time of purchase. Very frightening experience!

While driving down the interstate, at approximately 70 mph, the front suspension started to wobble to the point that it was almost uncontrollable. Once the vehicle was slowed to approximately 50 mph, the wobble stopped. This vehicle has 28,000 miles & this is a condition that has just started in the last 30 days.

2019 F-250 adaptive steering malfunction. The truck has 49000 miles. I was reversing from a parking lot and as I shifted gears to drive and turn to get straight to move forward, my steering adaptive light came on the dash and my steering shifted 90 degrees to the left. Driving to the dealership with a toddler was frightening. This is a serious safety hazardous. Ford should issue a recall, but does not.

When truck hits certain rough areas of the road the steering wheel will begin to oscillate violently and the truck will shake(death wobble). This will continue until you slow down to around 20 mph. The dealer the truck was purchased from was notified of the situation but can not get me in for at least a month. This has only happened when traveling in a straight line but if did occur in a curve I do not think I would be able to control the vehicle. This puts occupants of my vehicle as well as surrounding vehicles in danger. For now I do not feel safe driving this vehicle so it will be parked until the dealer can do something about it. After researching this it seems that this death wobble is a common occurrence with this vehicle and the manufacture has not done much to remedy the situation. i do have video of this happening but am unable to upload due to size restrictions.

Driving down the highway doing somewhere between 75-80. Hit a small bump in the road and then it felt like the front end of my truck exploded. The steering wheel started violently jerking and the whole truck was shaking from the inside out. I held as tight as I could to stay inside my lane since I was surrounded by many vehicles travel long as fast as me. I slowed down as fast as I could and was able to get the truck to the shoulder. I went out to look and see if I hit something or if my tires had exploded and could find nothing wrong. I got back in the truck and checked my dash indicators and tire pressure and everything was fine. So I started to drive on the shoulder to see if I could keep going. Everything seemed fine so I got back on the highway and headed home. Maybe 4-5 miles later I was doing about 60 and the same thing happened but even worse. I-??m really lucky I was able to keep control. I pulled over and rested the truck then took a side street and went 30 or under home. Upon getting home I messaged my friend about what happened and he sent me a bunch of links about the ford death wobble. I watched the videos and this is exactly what happened to me. I-??m furious that ford isn-??t being made to address this. If I had my kids in the car or was otherwise not strong enough to hold that steering wheel In place I wouldn-??t be here typing this tonight. I-??ll be taking the truck to the dealer in the morning but anything short of them replacing each and every component in this system will not be acceptable

After going over a rough patch of road, the steering wheel began to violently shake. Causing difficulty keeping the truck in my lane. I waited briefly for it to stop but it wouldn-??t. I pulled to the shoulder and began to slow down. Around 10 miles per hour the shaking finally went away. Ford has recalled the steering damper. This repair has already been done on this truck but did not resolve the issue. After doing my own research this is not the underlying issue that causes this problem, but Ford will not take the responsibility to do anything else for me.

I have had in excess of 15 incidents where my truck upon hitting a bump in the road the front right tire began to go into what is referred to as a "death wobble". I took my truck in to have it repaired. The wobble stopped for approximately 2 weeks and then the left tire began doing the same thing. On Dec, 31st driving from Stockton to LA I hit an uneven spot in the highway when I was between a semi truck and a concrete barrier. It caused the semi truck to swing wildly out of control as he swerved to avoid my vehicle as it went into a death wobble sending me withing inches of his cab. My rear finder struck the concrete barrier causing damage to the rear panel. My brother and I could have easily been killed. Ford refuses do do a real on this vehicle and it is risking lives. Additionally my brother in law has the same truck with the same issue. I will never buy a Ford ever again.

While driving at approximately 65 mph on a highway under ordinary conditions and on a relatively flat road, unprompted by any driving event, the truck started violently shaking. The steering wheel was shaking uncontrollably at the same time. The passenger reached for the grab bar to hold on to in fear as it felt like the vehicle was out of control. The event lasted approximately 30-60 seconds and seemingly randomly, stopped after the vehicle slowed down slightly. No warning lights or messages came on before, during, or after the event.
