At approximately 7 months after purchase, the truck started experiencing a minor "shutter" that seemed random. It worsened at speeds around 70mph & felt like driving over rough pavement. It was not constant. When encountered, it could be corrected by reduction in speed. The frequency & intensity of occurence increased to the point that in one day it happened 3 times (typical was 2-3 per week) and I almost lost control of the vehicle. I called my Ford salesman and he came and picked up my truck. The service department looked over it and said nothing was wrong and that I must have gotten some bad fuel. I drove it again. It happened again. I took it back to Ford and they let their diesel mechanic drive it home overnight. He couldn't reproduce the shuttering condition. I drove it for another month, experiencing multiple events. At my scheduled maintenance, I informed them that I was still having problems. A different mechanic drove it, experienced the truck shake when hitting a pot hole and said the steering damper was damaged and needing replacement. The replacement corrected the shaking for about 1 week at which point the shaking became violent with every bump. Pot holes, bridge transitions, rough pavement...all uneven surfaces cause an event, some of which could literally be deadly. I lost all control of my steering on 3 occasions and had to come to nearly a complete stop to regain control. I've taken it to Ford 4 time, concerned with my safety and the safety of anyone around me during an event. I have the death wobble and they can not fix it due to the steering parts being on back order. They already replaced once and it lasted a week. The brand new 2019 truck is unsafe to drive and no one can fix it. They indicated they're waiting on a recall or bulletin to tell them what to do. In the meantime I have a $70K truck I can't drive. It will get someone killed.

After putting 8,707 miles on my new 2019 F-250 Super Duty FX4 without incident, the front suspension has begun shaking violently when passing over highway expansion joints and/or bumps in the road surface at highway speeds. This has happened twice so far, both times while travelling between 65 to 70 mph in a straight sections of highway; once over a bump in the roadway, once over an expansion joint. The truck is impossible to control once the front suspension begins shaking violently, and only stops shaking after braking to a much lower speed. Luckily, in both instances other vehicles on the road were able to avoid my truck as it drifted across lanes of traffic. In both instances, the only control I had was to brake. The service department representative at the local Ford dealership told me that Ford has known about the "death shake" issue in F-250 and F-350 four wheel drive trucks for several years, and I was advised to buy a 3.5 inch leveling kit, and dual steering stabilizer kits at my own expense, because the factory fix of replacing the defective Ford steering dampener is not a permanent solution.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. While driving 50 mph over a pothole, the front end of the vehicle shook violently and experienced the "death wobble". the contact called town East Ford (18411 lyndon B johnson fwy, mesquite, tx 75150, (972) 584-9140) and was informed that the shocks, suspension, springs, tie rod, an alignment, and tires were needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 40,000.

F250, 6.7L diesel, 4WD, crew cab, 25,000 miles. Vehicle control lost when traversing expansion joints (especially at bridge/road interface) at highway speeds (~70mph). The steering wheel wobbles erratically and the truck uncontrollably jumps laterally and at a slight angle, up to the width of an entire lane. Fortunately, there has been no vehicle (or structure) adjacent to the truck; I would have hit it! in all cases the vehicle was lightly loaded with approximately 200-400 lbs of pax/gear. All equipment is 'factory' and unmodified. All maintenance has been performed by Ford dealers (only fluid/filter changes and tire rotation thusfar).

I entered IH10 East bound from johns road in boerne tx. At about the time I reached highway speed I hit a bump / pot hole on the road. After impact the truck immediately and violently started to shake and the steering wheel was shaking too. The whole truck started to shake, only stopping after slowing the truck to below 50mph. Now the steering wheel is not centered and there is a constant vibration while driving. The truck feels loose while driving and wanders after hinting small bumps in the road. The truck has approx. 16,700 miles on it. Purchased in April of 2019 new. F250 4X4 crew cab.

I was driving on the interstate at 75 mph (posted speed limit in Texas), crossed onto a bridge and the entire front end began to violently shake and bounce. The steering wheel was turning back and forth. The only way I could gain control of the truck was to slow down and move over to the right shoulder and almost stop. This was almost 10 days ago on a Saturday. I took it to the dealership on the following Monday. Coincidentially, there was another man there with a 2018 F250 with the same issue. My truck is a 2019 and has 16,600 miles on it. I've taken it to the dealership and the tech told me that Ford has known about the issue for a long time. He specifically mentioned the degree of camber in the front end. They've ordered parts and he stated that he has personally repaired over a hundred trucks with this problem. He stated that he will "replace the parts and readjust the degree of camber back to where he likes it" and "that should fix the problem". tonight, Nov 10, 2019, as I'm driving to work, it happened again on level ground on an entrance ramp to the interstate at approximately 50 mph. I had to slow down to approx 25 mph to get the shaking and oscillations to stop.

While driving at 65 mph on the interstate, I drove over an expansion joint connected to an overpass. Suddenly my front tires started oscillating violently and I lost control of the vehicle. I was able to immediately apply the breaks and regained control after slowing to below 30mph and veering into the lane to my left. Luckily, there was not another vehicle in that position. The vehicle has just under 15K miles on it. I use it as a commuter to work via mostly highway roads. I currently feel very unsafe driving it above 60mph and so I'm unable to drive it to work until this situation is remedied.

While operating vehicle under normal conditions, between 25 and 65 mph, the steering wheel will jerk and shake violently when crossing uneven pavement surfaces, such as expansion joints for bridges or overpasses, or potholes. The problem is noticeable on highways and side streets, and both straight and curved sections of road. On multiple occasions the only way to stop the shaking was to slow down below 20 mph, or come to a complete stop.

I hit a bumpy but normal patch on I-40 at about 65 mph. The truck started shaking violently and it felt as though a wheel was coming off. I lost control of the vehicle as it was extremely hard to steer. I thought I was entering a severe accident and was fearful for my life and that of my two daughters. I braked hard while surrounded by other vehicles and was able to pull over to the shoulder without a collision. I inspected the truck and did not see anything wrong. Had this happened in a slightly different circumstance such as navigating a turn on the highway it would have caused a wreck. I have looked online and it appears that this is happening a lot with these vehicles and nothing is being done about it!!! I guess people's lives just aren't worth fixing an expensive problem. Help

General driving at freeway speeds drove over highway overpass that had a slight bump. After vehicle suspension reacted to the bump, it went into a violent steering wheel shake that would not stop until the truck was pulled to the side of the road and stopped. Violent shake also happens when applying the brakes from higher speeds to a stop at random times. The recent occurrence happened while ramping onto a highway and applying brakes to negotiate a curve. Truck was checked by dealership recently and stabilizer was replaced but shake still exists at times, however a violent episode has not occurred yet again

My vehicle is a 2019 F250 Super Duty powerstroke diesel crew cab short bed. I was traveling down the highway at approximately 60 miles an hour. I encountered a small bump in the road that led to a violent shaking of the front end suspension. I thought perhaps a lug nut broke off allowing one of the wheels to wobble. I took my foot off the excelerator and lightly tapped my brakes in an effort to slow the vehicle down and pull off to the side of the road. I traveled approximately 100 yards before the violent shaking stopped and I was able to pull off to the side of the road inspect my tires. To my surprise the tires we're not missing any lugnuts and they seemed tight, I crawled underneath to see if anything had broken to my surprise nothing was broken. This happened once before for a much shorter distance and I brought it to Ford immediately. They stated nothing was found wrong with the vehicle. I will be bring this vehicle back to Ford and they better have a better answer thus time!!!
