F-350 FB 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 140,000 miles

Well this is the third time, and the same issue - a total pain in the ass. Needs to be a factory recall issue, instead of us poor devoted Ford owners. They knew this was an issue but still put millions more in new vehicles!

Well, this is my second time fixing the spark plug popping out, this time a new one on the opposite side (and for the third time in the truck's life). Love my truck but hate this issue. This needs to be recalled - it's a warranty issue, not the poor truck owners' faults, being loyal Ford Customers!

F-350 FB 5.4L V8

Well I picked up this truck used and was informed that one of the plugs had blown out, and was fixed with helicole repair. 6 months later a second plug on passenger side blew out the plug. I paid $500 to get it fixed. 6 months and 6000 miles later, a new one pops out on driver's side, this time.

So now it's time for a new $500 bill to get fixed. Love my truck, but this is something Ford has known to be a problem child. I feel like I need Rebel (Erin Brockovich) with a defective heart valve. They knew this was a frickin' problem, but kept putting them in more rigs. Saying that it will happen after the warranty is expired anyway most times. This needs to be recall problem. Now it's time for a new bill, fixing an issue that should be a recall warranty issue. Not an owners problem, more than bringing it in to Ford and say please fix this (fix or repair daily) FORD, please!

I guess I'm just lucky it happened on startup in my driveway, but today, I made my first payment on the truck and sold my old one.

F-350 SuperDuty 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 194,772 miles

The plug that was ejected was third one back on the drivers side. So of course I can't see down the hole because the engine is so far back that it's under the windshield and glove box. It's one of the worst designs I've seen. I'm planning on getting it fixed with a heli-coil but either way I'm sick of this truck. I've replaced the engine once due to it tearing itself apart because an injector plugged up and dripped gas down into the oil pan and diluted the oil.

Never have I had these issues in older cars. Has Ford gone backwards in their design?

F-350 V10

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

I had this engine tuned up about 2years ago (1999 triton v10 in a ford f350), for the first time at about 120,000 mi and have blown either 4 or five spark plugs since then at a cost of 240 to 250 bucks each time. The mechanic each time assures me it won't happen again, but it does any way and he now tells me he wants 1000 bucks to tap the rest and put new helia- coils in them. Personally I think he improperly torqued the tune up plugs and won' admit it. I checked on line and Ford has definately had a problem and should take care of it.

Had started on a trip to Alabama and this happened in Tennessee on the 2nd day of the trip. Fortunately there was a Ford dealer that had a guy willing to fix the problem for us on a Saturday morning.

Well we started out after a weekend in Gaylord MI and had the same problem we had a couple weeks ago on vacation. The damn plug (2 this time) ejected from the engine. We decided to go ahead and get them all repaired and be done with it. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD AS LONG AS I LIVE, NOR WILL MY CHILDREN IF I HAVE A SAY IN THE MATTER!!

F-350 V10

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

My 1999 Ford 350 engine in my motor home spit out a spark plug as my daughters and I were coming down a dangerous winding highway north of Anchorage the 4th of July night. We limped over to the side and waited for the tow truck. (Matanuska Towing with Payton-4 star service) Expensive fix, especially when I paid $670 two years ago for new spark plugs so this would never have to happen!

Damage Resulting

It cost $514 at Midas in Palmer, great service day after the 4th of July. However, I came close to having a wreck because of this. The week before I was driving with 4 grand kids and me, a woman with a can of bear spray. Thank goodness it didn't happen then. When does the shoe drop again?
