The contact stated both front rims cracked. The first rim cracked about six months ago and was replaced. The second rim has not been replaced. This started with a hairline crack on the spoke, then after driving the crack went all the way through.

The front rims had cracks on them. This caused the front tires to lose air prematurely. Dealership replaced the rims/tires.

Consumer stated that the wheel rims cracked, and lost tire pressure rapidly. Front driver's side rim was cracked. Consumer called rim manufacturer, and was told that this particular type of rim, manufactured from 06/1996-06/1999, was being recalled. Consumer then called Ford, and was told that these rims were made exclusively for Ford, and Ford would be responsible for any rim recalls.

While driving and without warning consumer tire was slowly deflating. Took vehicle to dealer, and mechanic stated there were pinholes on rim, causing tire to have a slow leak. Also, recommended that consumer purchase another rim.

Consumer noticed passenger's right side frontal tire was losing pressure, tire would not stay inflated. Consumer contacted dealer. Dealer removed rim, and found a crack on inside of the rim about 4 inches long, causing tire to deflate.
