why could they not have used an aluminum oil pan like they did for the ATF.
i had a 1985 with an oil pan that never rusted, what the hell!!!!!

rusting oil pan, well just one more short cut buy ford. but even under warranty i wouldn't even think of having a dealer pull my motor out. you will have problems for ever. you can do the job with out pulling the motor. i've done it. when the turbo sprung a leak ( just one more problem ) i jacked the motor up with the turbo off. dropped the oli pan then sanded it down to bare metal then primed and painted it with POR-15 a ( real GOOD paint )better than new you see ford did not prime coat the oil pan why bother who will know most will last past the warranty. its just one more thing ford and the two big boys do to save a buck. i stay with ford just because i know were to get my parts at cost. but to ford guys out there buy your trucks now diesel that is, because ford wants to make there own soon. that will be a nightmare. good luck.
