This is a 2006 Ford ambulance that has been having issue's with the fuel system over the past two years the most recent was during a emergency response when the ambulance lost power and shut down the crew was unable to complete their response to the emergency because the ambulance would not restart. The ambulance was towed to the Ford dealership they reported the fuel tank was coming apart on the inside and clogging the fuel system. We contacted Ford and complain of all the fuel problem and the most resent the fuel tank the end result was their claiming its not their problem but ours the repair est is over $7000 this ambulance has spent more time in the shop then responding to emergency calls and has left our crews sit while in route or on the scene of medical emergency. The Ford dealer and Ford Motor Company refuse to do anything to correct this problem we have never had these type of problems with any ambulance we owned over the past 15 years and a ambulance breaking down in the middle of a emergency call is a dangerous issue to the patient and crew......

F-350 egr cooler went bad and smoked up entire neighborhood. Other motorists could not see as the smoke emitted from my F-350 was like a very very thick fog. I contacted Ford, who knows about the ongoing and extensive problem, but they refuse to do anything but "document" the problem and want NHTSA to make it a recall. Apparently there are a lot of other F-350 owners with the same problem. This is very dangerous. I'm not sure if the fumes that are emitted from this problem are safe either.

F-350 8-cyl Diesel

  • 52,000 miles
I purchased a new 2006 Ford F-350 diesel truck from monaco Ford in glastonbury, ct. The vehicle now has 52,000 miles and has been in for service twice for lack of power. The service dept at monaco says the problem is that the gas tank is deteriorating & the fuel pump is compromised. I have researched the problem and found numerous complaints from Ford owners re: This exact issue. Ford refuses to take responsibility. They insist that the problem is fuel, not their product. I do not use bio-diesel fuel or buy from discount fuel suppliers. How can so many owners have the identical problem? Ford Motor Company needs to recall these vehicles. Suddenly loosing power on the highway in a large, heavy truck because an inferior part was used, is a real safety issue. I respectfully request that you register this complaint and look into the issue of recalling deteriorating gas tanks in Ford products. Updated 11/07/08.
