Tailgate continues to open on its own primarily while driving on unmaintained dirt roads. Recently this happened while out hunting and had some cargo fall out of my truck. Fortunately, another hunter saw what happened, grabbed our gear and caught up to us to return it.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving and making a left turn, the passenger's side door suddenly flew open, almost causing the passenger to be thrown from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken larry H. miller Ford draper (11442 S lone peak pkwy, draper, ut 84020, (801) 742-5237, and the contact was informed that there was an in-house recall on the vehicle for a defective door latch. The contact stated that the door failed to remain securely closed and was secured using a rope. The repair was still pending. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25,630.
