The contact exited the vehicle to perform an inspection and observed condensation underneath the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was recently repaired under Emission Recall Number: 20E07 (Power Train Control Module Reprogramming). The contact stated that while driving 70-80 MPH, the RPM fluctuated between 2,300 and 2,900 RPM, and the transmission failed to shift into overdrive. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 171,000.

Restricted CCV Separator causing excessive crankcase pressure buildup. 2017-2019 models of this engine have this CCV design, but the Crankcase Oil Separator (containing this part) was redesigned from 2020 forward for the same engine due to excessive complaints of buildup and costly secondary effects such as Charge Air Cooling Tube splits/failures. This modification was never offered to 2017-2019 model year vehicles with this engine. Servicing Dealer indicated that this failure, and secondary failures led to loss of engine oil, which leads to catastrophic engine failure while driving. There are no indications via OBD codes or dash warnings indicating there is an issue, giving a false sense of security to the driver, especially when towing large loads. This problem was discovered on this vehicle during a routine oil change when low engine oil was observed (less than 2 quarts out of 13 quart capacity present in the engine upon attempting to drain).

While driving vehicle down the road, "reduced engine power" light illuminates and then the vehicle stalls in less than five seconds. There is no warning of an issue or any problem before the engine dies. This is the second occurrence of this on the truck. It has happened while towing a heavy load. Total loss of power, sterring and braking ability is a serious issue and a danger to the public as well as myself and my family. This issue needs to be resolved by Ford ASAP!

Coolant leak from "tee" connections on line from overflow bottle across engine. Ford part: Hc3Z-8075-D. smelled coolant leak while driving on freeway. While hundreds of miles from home had one of the hose connections at the plastic tee above the engine air intake come loose causing coolant leak. Inspected other connections on both tee's and found all to be loose and/or leaking. Secured all hose connections (6) on both tee's with screw type clamps to get home. Ford has used oetiker clamps and single barb plastic tee instead of a more robust spring or screw type clamp on a multi barb connection.

F-350 8-cyl Diesel

  • 23,000 miles
Vehicle was in motion on a city street and the fuel injector dash light appeared momentarily and then disappeared. Shortly afterwards, I began to sense the slight smell of diesel and just as I turned into my homes driveway there was a loud burst from the engine compartment and the truck began to smoke. I stopped and shut off the vehicle immediately and exited as I was going to inspect the situation. There were screams of fire coming from my wife as the trucks engine compartment began to roar with flames. Action was taken to put out the fire but the flames were too strong. 911 was called and the fire department began in route to our location. In my attempts to contain the fire the truck began to attempt to start on its own. After approximately 3 attempts of the truck starting, there was another loud burst and more flames. Afterwards the horn began to alarm for several minutes. With the help of my neighbors between the water hose and fire extinguisher we were able to contain upon the 18 minute arrival time of the fire department. It is unknown at this time to what caused this fire. Please understand my frustrations as I tell you my 2 year old son was strapped in his car seat in a vehicle that was on fire which was only purchased only 6 months ago from a certified Ford dealership. Photos of engine compartment and cab dash area are attached. Consumer stated he has yet to hear from Ford.

Death wobble, you hit a small bump or uneven road at 20-75 mph and it shakes violently you have to slow down to 15mph to make it quit. The dealer could not duplicate and said it was tires out of balance, the next time it went in they said it was mud in the wheels. 2nd promblem is the upper oil pan started leaking at 80K, 3rd promblem the stainless steel braded line that goes from master cylinder to ABS module ruptured and left me with no brakes. All of this over a course of about 89K miles

The truck shuts off at while running. This happens at both highway speeds and while stopped. I have taken it to the dealer but they cannot find out what has happened. When the truck shuts of the steering and brakes are not working to the level that is needed to stop the vehicle or control the vehicle, and it appear they are power assisted from the motor, so when the motor stalls they are lost. Ford E-350 2017 has a brake problem. I drove around trip from baltimore to bowie, md where self storage zone place. With the vehicle, I was not able to stop the vehicle before the vehicle ran through the gate itself. Brake was frozen and unable to press the brake but the brake was released after the gate was broken then I stopped it immediately. Its engine powerful run slow itself despite I stopped it but it continued to run through gate despite I applied the brake. There was skid on the road though brake was not working.
