Driver side rear tire suffered tread separation after apx 1 hour around 70 mph. Tire pressure was checked / inflated to max cold prior to departure. Air temperature was in the low 80S. 1999 Ford F250 with Firestone steeltex tires. Tread came off left rear tire. An inspection showed tread was separating on rt front tire. Sent tire to Firestone and got a form letter about abuse of tires (under inflated, over inflated). Same letter Firestone used when failures of Ranger tires were occurring. I have the oil changed every 6000 miles and have tire pressure checked. I also check pressure myself. I also rotated tires as suggested by Ford. Tires had good tread and wear patterns. These tires are defective.
