Passenger side front door latch suddenly stopped working. Drove car in the morning and had no issues with that, or any other, door. After returning home for a couple of hours, had to make another trip with a passenger. As we were pulling out from my driveway, I noticed a warning in the message console saying the passenger door was ajar. Sure enough, a simple push of the door opened it wide. After some tinkering, we noticed the door latch was not actually locking into place. The mechanism moved as it should, but wouldn't lock and stay in place until handle was pulled. This seems to be a very common issue, as a five minute google search revealed numerous complaints within the last few weeks with people experiencing this same problem. This is completely unacceptable and unsafe. Ford needs to fix this defect as soon as possible! updated 12/11/14
