problem #2

Mar 032012

Fiesta SE 1.6L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,000 miles

One of my many issues with this vehicle. The driver's side speaker emits a static or blown noise when temperatures reach above 80 degrees or more. No matter what setting I adjust for the sound system, it sounds exactly the same. I haven't gone to the dealership to check on this issue, it should be covered under warranty.

Passenger side front speaker intermittently is nothing but static. Even if you move the balance off that speaker it continues to emit static. This problem seems to occur mostly when the car is cold making me think it is a loose connection. I put it in the dealer for an unrelated problem and asked them to check this. They had the car for 8 days and claimed to never be able to reproduce the problem. I'm assuming me telling them that it does it "intermittently" wasn't enough to believe it is a problem. Received my car back after 8 days and it was written up as "no problem found at this time". As soon as the problem reoccurs I will be calling them back.
