Fiesta L 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,064 miles

Ford Australia have known of a significant fault with the "Powershift DPS6 transmission" on this vehicle for a while. They have denied the fault and refused to contribute costs to rectify complaints. There has been a class action against Ford Australia late last year (2018) which they lost (Biljana Capic V Ford Motor Company of Australia).

My wife took her car into the local Ford dealership to get the car examined for this fault and it was determined that the car did have the fault. A warranty claim was submitted to Ford Australia to se if they would contribute any costs. They declined based on the argument that the car had not been serviced with them for the last 5 years.

People considering buying a vehicle with this type of transmission should consider this complaint before purchasing. This type of transmission is not isolated to the Fiesta but also to the Focus and Ecosport (These are of the Australian market).

Fiesta SES 1.6L

After 5 Recalls and Clutches replaces and computer programmed... we still have the same issue... I love Ford and when we bought this car the sales man said " this is a great car and you will not experience any issues with it" 5 years later still fighting with this crappy CVT transmission. I utterly hate this car.... and stuck with it until i can afford another one..... I bought it at 35,000 and now have 135,000 and still have the same issues. Ford owes anyone that has this car.

Fiesta SFE 1.6L

I like this car but I am tired of replacing the clutch every year. I purchased this car in 2010 and drive a lot of highway miles but this issue is annoying. I probably was one of the first owners to have transmission control module issues in 2013 when my Fiesta slowed on the freeway from 70 mph to 30. I paid for all repairs and waited weeks for the parts to arrive. I wrote to Ford and was reimbursed for all repairs but I should have asked to be reimbursed for rental car fees.

I thought I was covered for any future clutch repairs since it is a faulty design. I did not have the dealer order the parts and I am able to drive the Fiesta but and I ready to throw in the towel. I keep my vehicles for a long time but this is so frustrating. $1500 every year in addition to regular maintenance??????

ok people I am the angry owner of a 2011 ford fiesta with the faulty clutch problem. I have had the clutch replaced 6 times and each time I am told that this will fix the problem. But I found out that ford is replacing the clutch with the same faulty part. For over 2 years I was told there was no problem found. Since them every 3 to 4 months my car is getting a new faulty clutch. the last time I talked to ford they told me they would give me $2500.00 towards a new ford and I could trade mine in. Then it would be someone else's problem and that is not fair. And I would not get a good price for my trade with it reputation of this problem. Ford keeps telling me that the replacing the clutch is what the engineers have come with for a solution. They are on too many coffee breaks and don't know how to fix the problem. I know there are a few law suits out there against ford in other countries but not in Canada. So I hope that one of them wins and we can all get our money back. I know I have lots of company with this issue. And I almost got t-boned by a truck the other day when I went to turn left on a hill and my car would not respond to me stepping on the gas. FORD SUCKS and is not standing behind their problem vehicles that they continued to sell for 3 years.

Thanks for listening
