problem #3

Fiesta

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

Occasionally, when trying to start the vehicle it responds with various clicking sounds as if electrical issues with ignition, starter, ow battery, or something else. After taking to mechanic twice, it did not happen while at shop and ignition, starter and batter are all fine.

After much research, it appears Ford has issued several technical service bulletins (TSB 11-5-23 for "new bolt for negative line from battery to body panel) and TSB 11-5-24 and TSB 13-11-?? reference "cleaning ground and doing reflash". I verified that the updated grounding bolts were installed, per an online video.

My next step is to be prepared with smart phone to video record the issue as it happens and then take it to Ford for hopefully resolution.

  • Automatic transmission

Turning the key to start the vehicle, it would buzz, but no power and sometimes no noise of any kind. Sometimes you would have to try several times to start it. The shop said that they had to reprogram the ignition switch. Haven't got the car back yet to see if this works better now. They are still working on other problems.
