Fiesta

  • Manual transmission
  • 7,000 miles

My first oil change at 7,000 my oil was a quart low. At 14,000 mile oil change my oil was a quart low. At 21,000 miles my oil was two quarts low. I'm at 24,000 miles and my oil is a quart low already. Took the car into the dealer and they did a compression test. They didn't pull the spark plugs to check for blow by, they didn't check the crankcase ventilation release hose and they didn't check for oil in the exhaust. there is no leaking so the oil has to be burning somewhere. They want me to drive 1,500 miles and take it back to them. I'm concerned because most dealers don't want to do the right thing especially if its the oil control rings not sealing. I don't want to get just outside my warranty and oh...you need to change the oil control rings. I have NEVER had a vehicle use that much oil. Either there's something wrong or there's not. Tell me you're gonna fix it or not. It's so frustrating. So now when I get the car back, I have to check everything they didn't and they're the dealer. I can't really find much information as to whether this is a common problem for this car.

Fiesta SFE 1.6L I-4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

The car is supposed to have its oil changed every 10000 miles or in a year. Around 5500 miles I checked my oil and it was down to the "ADD 8 OZ." area so that's what I did and then around 7000 checked it again and guess what it was below add again. So I filled it up again. Then I called the Ford dealer and had it checked out but of course they can't find anything wrong and all they said was to bring it in next time it gets low instead of filling it up on my own.
