Fiesta Hatchback 1.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

Actually that was 2 yrs ago and not really sure of the exact date but that was 2016 that's the first door that unlocked and cannot close. I sent to repair shop just to fix it and it really cost me a lot! Now I experienced again the same problem with the other door which also cannot lock and need to tie just to close it. Really bothers me a lot...this is the only car I've got. I use going to work and cannot use this now because of this bad thing happened.

This is not the only problem that I encountered. After I bought the car last April 2012 after 2 yrs the cover of the gasoline tank was lost...it is only taped/glued that why, when on the road I think it fell...and I also experienced loud noise from engine.

I am really disappointed with this car I brought as if I brought it 2nd hand..I'm a girl and I am not ran expert in buying cars, maybe that's the reason they gave me a not good quality unit. Hope this will be resolved the soonest..thanks you and I am hoping that you can help me with this.

Fiesta

Driving to get my son's driving permit and the rear driver side door just swung open,,,, tried a fix I found online that did not work... guess this is a known issue and parts for the fix are hard to come by...... if someone were in the back seat this could have been disastrous....never received a recall letter.... to be continued....

Fiesta SE 1.6L 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 79,300 miles

While operating the vehicle on 04/18/2017, the rear passenger door of the vehicle inadvertently opened while the vehicle was in motion.

I received Safety Recall Notice 15S16 on January 2016 regarding this issue that stated: "it may be possible for the pawl spring tab inside one or more of the side door latches in the vehicle to break, preventing the door from latching". This is exactly what occurred to me today on 04/18.

Shortly after receiving the recall notice, I contacted a Ford Dealership in the Kansas City metro area where I was living and they stated that parts were so back ordered and "to try again in a few months". As life moved on, I put this on the backburner and relocated to Omaha, NE for a new job.

I share this complaint because I am highly concerned for the safety of others that do not resolve this problem. I was fortunate enough that the failure of my door latch today did not injure another motorist or cause injury, but I can guarantee you it made me question the reliability and safety of my vehicle which in which I thought I could place my trust.

If anyone else is affected by this multi-million vehicle recall, please do not delay or allow Ford dealerships to stall on repairing this critical failure that could lead to serious safety concerns.
