Fiesta SE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

Just bought the car in July, has been to the shop 3 x for 3 different issues. The radio would randomly cut off... had to take it to the dealer twice, since they couldn't recreate the problem the first time. Radio was replaced, no problems yet.. Also told them about shifting issues in the car when it was dropped off. They reprogrammed my transmission, and ordered me a new clutch. Its been in the shop twice since I bought it a few months ago. The clutch is being replaced @ 30k miles. I've started researching it, and it seems like there are major issues with the transmission and clutch in this vehicle. I didn't buy a newer car to have it in the shop so much. Super mad.

I purchased my Fiesta in March 2012. Shortly after purchase started having problems with the shuttering and hesitating issue due to this new clutch design.

The vehicle has been in to the service department where I purchased it the first time the clutch issue was repaired the second time they installed a part of the clutch system. The third time it was in to the service department there was no repair done. The warranty guidelines required the failure to rate at a 270 my failure was a 250. I have contacted a lawyer to get me released from this "death trap".

On March 6, 2015, I went to turn left across two lanes of on coming traffic and it shuttered at acceleration and nearly stalled. Keep in mind this is automatic. I was nearly broad sided. I made arrangements for a vehicle because I was told that they did not have a loaner for me to drive while they repaired mine. So on, March 10, 2015, I took the Fiesta to another local Ford Service center and upon their inspection was told that the clutch had to be replaced again. The wonderful news to this story is the part is back ordered from the factory and it will take eight weeks for them to receive in the part needed to repair my vehicle.

I refuse to drive this vehicle.

The Ford Fiesta is not a vehicle that should have the safety recommendations that it has. It isn't safe for consumer use.

Fiesta S 1.6L

  • Manual transmission
  • 4,000 miles

So I had worked for a long time to save up for a new car. So when the time came to drop down all the money I have saved, I foolishly bought a Ford thinking that it should be reliable. But the clutch was messed up at 4000 miles and got the run around from the dealers so it took me 2 full days of going in and showing them there was a problem. And now at 30000 miles the axle is leaking fluid really bad, and of course the dealer cant get me in till next week, and says well it "should" be fine to drive, no rental car, no immediate service, nothing. So don't end up like me, buy a Honda or Toyota, end of story.
