This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
Door latch needs to be replaced. The dealer has had a recall in past on this year model but now they say there is no recall on door latch.

THIS CAR HAS BEEN A LEMON SINCE DAY ONE!!! I HATE IT..IT'S BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. THE "MANUAL-AUTOMATIC" TRANSMISSION IS A DAMN JOKE...FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO FALL RIGHT OUT EVERYTIME I PRESS TO EXCEL. ALSO..THIS LATCH THING!? REALLY?! CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP... RANT OVER.

Completely ridiculous! This is the problem that killed any chance of me keeping this car (trading it in right after this issue is fixed). Was trying to go visit my Dad's grave on Fathers Day, and the back rear passenger door would not latch closed! Couldn't go visit his grave because of this! Even locking the door would not lock the latch on this door, so it can swing open whenever it wants and I can't keep it locked at night. Have to use a bungee cord to keep it closed!! Getting it repaired tomorrow and it better not take forever to fix! This is absolutely crazy, on a car with only 8000 miles!!

I have my doors bungee corded together untill I can come up with the money to fix it. I have a warranty and extended warranty but this isn't covered.

I opened the back door to put stuff in the back seat and when I went to shut the door, it bounced back at me.
I tried repeatedly to shut the door, but it would not close at all. My co-workers had to use a bungee cord to keep my door from flying open while I was driving the 50 miles home after work.

Had to have door latch replaced on left rear door as my 36,000 mile warranty had expired. Thank goodness I got a warranty from the secondary dealership where I bought the car. It cost me $100.00 deductible to have the latch replaced as the door wouldn't shut at all. I've had this car for 2 months and I've taken it to the dealer over 3 times. I'll never buy another Ford Fiesta.
The only thing I like about this car is the gas mileage.

I went to close my door and it bounced back. I guess the locking mechanism in the door broke. It was a holiday weekend and the service department was closed. The dealership owner had the partner dealership service department down the road fix it. They took the part from a new car off the lot.

The past 4 years I have been paying on a 2013 Ford Fiesta I purchased from US Auto Sales in June 2015. Since I have had this vehicle I have been in very serious situations that could have been fatal. Three times my vehicle doors have come open while I have driven on the road. Just last week my driver’s side door opened up while I was driving home, this makes four times my doors has swung open. The first time my son was sitting in the passenger seat when the passenger door swung open as I was driving on I-285 west, the scream and look of fear in his eyes still is a painful memory I can’t shake. I took the car back to US Auto sales with tears in my eyes hoping they would get me out of the car but they treated me as if I was a customer walking through the door and wanting to purchase a new car, so without a co-signer I was denied another car and they allowed me to walk out the office in tears and get back in a vehicle that i had a shirt tied to the passenger door to the back of the passenger headrest so the door wouldn’t come open. I took the car to Gwinnett Place Ford the 3 times the doors have become unlatched. Gwinnett Place Ford also had to fix the recall on the transmission control module the first time I took the vehicle in for the door latch. Again, Gwinnett Place Ford treated me as if I was a customer looking to trade in my vehicle so since my income wasn’t enough to get another car I was told there was nothing else that could be done but to bring the car back if the door latch fail again. What kind of company manufactures a car that has door latch issues, this is extremely dangerous. This can be a fatal situation on the road for the driver and other drivers on the road. Luckily for me no cars were around me the 4 times my door has become unlatched while I've driven it. I took my car to Angela Kraus Ford today and for the 3rd time I was treated as if I was a customer trading in a car for another car instead of a customer driving one of Ford’s faulty cars that can be very fatal on the road. If I was the President of Ford I would replace every purchased 2013 Ford Fiesta and allow the customer to get another car with the same value and not treat them as a new or trade in buyer. This has inconvenienced me and frightened my children. I have been taking an Uber everywhere I need to go. I am scared to put my children back in that car and neither US Auto Sales nor Ford seems to care, the vehicle is now sitting in my residence parking lot with cords attached to the driver’s door to the drivers seat. I have tried to reach out to both of the top corporate managers to understand how they can be ok with having a customer drive a vehicle with the doors coming unlatched while driving. This is so dangerous and these people do not seem to care. I need someone to help me get out of this vehicle please, I just don’t know what else to do.
