Purge valve caused fuel tank to be sucked in 3/4 of an inch. While driving I have surging and when stopped the idle is erratic and bounces between 1000 to 2000 RPM. Causes code P0300 to come and go and also P0497 to come and go. Extremely hard for dealerships to find the problem. I have video and picture proof of issue.

Hello there! it's been a really long story, but my car has had a history of transmission problems that have been replaced twice now on Ford's dollar. It's been having the same issues now and it's even worse. It's non drivable. There are two open recalls for it, 14M01 and 14M02. I took it to the Ford dealership and we've gone back and forth with manufacturing, but it's so broken they can't pull those codes. They say that I need to pay for a tear down (at least 1,200) so they can diagnose it to see if they'll reimburse me. I'm obviously not going to pay for that and I'd like Ford to pay for it, but they won't. I have an open case with them, but reached the end of the line. Can you help?

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. While driving approximately 40 mph approaching a traffic light, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and "service transmission" displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle started to decelerate and the contact pulled into a parking lot. The vehicle was restarted and the same indicator and message remained illuminated; however, the vehicle failed to engage in reverse. The vehicle was driven to joe myers Ford (16634 North West freeway, houston, Texas 77040) where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module and clutch actuator motor failed, and oil was leaking from the valve gasket area. The contact also stated that the vehicle was previously repaired for transmission failure in July of 2017. The vehicle was repaired for the recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000.

Did all my checks and balances, seems like a manufacturures issue. High safety issue when traveling. Had transmission shutter seal replaced twice in 2 yrs by Ford dealership free of charge.

Fsa # 14E08; fsa # 14M01; fsa # 14M02 approx. Mileage at time of first complaint was 1500 miles. Current mileage is 119, xxx January 2018 approximate beginning of complaints is January 2013. Complaints are: -excessive hesitation / shudder / "whiplash-like" feeling when slow and normal acceleration is applied during take off, in all driving conditions. -excessive grinding and occasional clunking noise during slow and normal acceleration after a complete stop. -as of July 2017, occasional grinding with "clanking" noise occurs when slowing down to a complete stop; typically after approximately 30 minutes of highway driving and than at the first stop. -May 2014 to current, red fluid (transmission fluid) found on ground after being parked for more than 12 hours. Fluid seems to be coming from a shaft seal; at time of observation, cv shaft was found to have excessive play ((the service company at the time had the vehicle in the air and I observed the cv shaft rotating more than 1 to 1 1/2 inches (approximately) when no play should have been present; I could also hear the bearings grinding or rubbing.)) -vehicle seems to randomly lose power during first ignition startup. I would start the car, a few seconds later it would have a complete loss of power, I would than restart it, and it would operate as normal. Approximate number of this occurring is no more than 5 times since January 2015. -most recent complaint, October 2017, while accelerating for highway on ramp, vehicle lost complete power for approximately 2 seconds (speed at time of power loss was approx. 57mph). I lost control of steering and vehicle "shifted" or "jumped" to the left. The vehicle made a fast recovery on its own and continued as normal. Weather conditions were not harsh; there was slight rain / mist and above 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

The contact owned a 2013 Ford Fiesta. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact noticed smoke from the rear of the vehicle. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. As she was stopping the vehicle, another motorist alerted the contact of flames underneath the front end of her vehicle. The contact and her passengers were able to exit safely. The vehicle became engulfed in flames. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire. The contact was unaware if fire or police report were filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss. The vehicle was not inspected by an independent mechanic, dealer, or the insurance company to determine the cause of the fire. The contact also stated that an unknown warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The manufacturer was notified, but offered no assistance. The contact was informed to direct all questions to her insurance company. The failure mileage was 62,053....updated 10/19/17

While driving on the expressway my car began smoking and began to overheat which caused a cracked cylinder head that sprayed oil all over the inside of my hood sparking a small fire under the hood. The computer began to shut the car down and displayed a warning message that stated sudden loss of oil pressure, please prepare to pull over safely. Just as I read that message the brakes started to lock and the steering became harder to turn as I tried to get off the next exit from the expressway. I reinjured my broken ankle in trying to keep stop and control the car. Once pulled over the car continued to smoke and no longer started. I filed a claim with my insurance and it was denied as they found the cause was due to recall mechanical or electrical breakdown still under powertrain warranty. I went online and found on the Ford Motor Company mediacenter website this recall notice date 3/29/17. My VIN # was not on this list but to the letter is what I experienced: Ford issues safety recall for certain 2013-15 Ford escape, Ford Fiesta St, Ford Fusion and Ford transit connect 1.6-liter gtdi vehicles for under-hood fire risk Ford is issuing a safety recall in North America for approximately 230,000 2014 Ford escape, 2014-15 Ford Fiesta St, 2013-14 Ford Fusion and 2013-15 Ford transit connect vehicles equipped with 1.6-liter gtdi engines. Ford's investigation of these vehicles has identified a risk of under-hood fires. In the affected vehicles, a lack of coolant circulation could cause an engine to overheat, resulting in a crack in the cylinder head. A cracked cylinder head can result in a pressurized oil leak. Oil that comes into contact with a hot engine surface increases the risk of a fire in the engine compartment. Ford is aware of 29 reports of fire associated with this issue in the United States and Canada. No injuries have been reported.

Vehicle is dangerous. I have experienced loss of power with no response to the gas pedal. Car jerks violently while driving making it very difficult to steer and maintain. I have not driven car in months because it is a safety hazard. I have taken car to dealer 4 times and each time they are fixing the transmission, but it does the same thing right after getting the car back. Avoid this vehicle do not buy.

Bought this car new on 12/22/2013 and have been having transmission problems from day 3 of owning it. This car is not safe to drive. It grinds, clicks and makes horribly loud noises. It stalls in the middle of turns and I've almost been ran over many times. It jerks and accelerates on its own without me evening telling it to. Now at approximately 54,000 miles it will no longer even start and the light says "transmission malfunction service now." The wrench light and engine light also come on and off, periodically. Ford Motor Company is well aware that they put bad transmissions in all of these new cars and we have been robbed. Is it going to take someone's death before someone does the right thing in this situation?

Then about 30days latter found out what is wrong with it, I took the car in to have it fixed got it back still does the same thing. Sometimes I try to get it to take off from a stop sing an it will not take of good.I am the city car in front of me slow down then the car does not want to go up the hill.when it gets warm it runs real bad.I got it going 25 mph in city I try to give it more gas and it putt putt all the time.I call Ford dealers tell me bring it in nothing has helped it. They told me to hit the gas pedal hard I tried that does not help.in June 2016 got a letter in mail my door lock need to be fixed I went to Ford dealer said they don't know how to fix it yet.the door opened by itself one time.it does it on highway when come to a hill to give more gas and it putt.this car the way it acts I will not sell it to any one.it will kill them or me driving it.

While driving on the highway the power train/engine malfunction warning light (wrench shaped) warning light came on and remained on until I parked and turned off the car. At the end of the work day I started the car and the warning light was not on. I took the car to a Ford service center and was told wires had melted together and needed to be replaced. The reason I was given by the service center is:" Test drive - check engine light on, no symptoms detected. Ids test PCM koeo-pass. Cont - P2138 (app sensor correlation error), koer-pass, per tsb 13-11-15, bypass circuits LE136, LE137, and RE137 at connector C210, pins 1, 8, and 9 respectively, switch app sensor connector pins 1 and 2."
