This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
Ford Dealerships refuse to acknowledge there is a problem with the Ford Fiesta Transmission. It stalls, slips, grinds and misses during acceleration. These problems seem to be happening to quite a few people. We bought the extended warranty on this piece of crap car and they will not honor their obligation to fix the problem. Very disappointed in Ford. I was thinking of getting a new truck but will never purchase another Ford product based on their refusal to fix their problems.
I may seek legal action. Was glad to see the Class Action lawsuit already in progress. Hoping for the best for those folks and maybe will help the rest of us.

I've taken this complaint to two Ford Dealerships about the shuddering, jerking, hesitating and they checked and said couldn't find anything wrong with it. It is just getting worse. Took it back and they said they took it for a road test and that nothing is wrong, that is how the transmission was designed. I really wish that the laws or government do something about this.

The expectation of this car is misleading. I really expect more for example: If you take you foot of the gas, it acts like it getting ready to shift into another gear but stalls. And it takes off very slow like its confused. You really needs to do a recall on this car.

I have had this car into the dealer three times for transmission problems, they "fix" it and it comes back again.
Update from Apr 27, 2015: The car continues to lurch forward on take off, shifts very rough between about second and third gear, hesitates, and has a loud clanking, dragging chain sound when it shifts.
The transmission has been in to the service department at two dealers at least four times, with at least one rebuild. In only about 1000 miles it is doing all this again, and its worse than before.

Started taking my car in back in July 2013 right after I bought it. The transmission sounds like its going to fall apart. Have almost had a dozen or so accidents because the car doesn't accelerate suddenly. The have repaired it once but they keep saying nothing is wrong with it its normal. Its not normal for a car to suddenly accelerate when you have your foot off the gas or to floor it only to get no response what so ever. When turning corners I suddenly lose power and have almost been rear ended on several occasions. Here it is 2 1/2 years later and I am still trying to get Ford to fix it. Last time I took it in it took them a week just to get time to look at it because they are so backlogged. Now I am waiting on a new clutch. Its been 4 weeks and they are saying 8-12 weeks more because its on backorder

I PURCHASED A NEW 2013 FORD FIESTA ON FEB.12,2014 AND 10 MONTHS AFTER I'M DRIVING PROBLEMS STARTED WITH CLUNKING NOISE AND I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM. FIRST IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION IS ABOUT TO GIVE UP, THEN A MONTH LATER THE CAR STARTING TO MAKE SOME CLUNKING NOISE AGAIN, THEN BACK TO THE DEALER AGAIN. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH.
THEN YESTERDAY I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK, THE WRENCH ICON LIT UP, AND IT SAYS ON MY SCREEN DASH, ENGINE MALFUNCTION NEED SERVICE NOW. SO I CALLED THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT IS GOING ON, AND I HAVE TO TURN AROUND AND LATE FOR WORK. THE DEALER TAKE CARE MY PROBLEM. THEY EVEN PROVIDE ME A CAR TO DRIVE. ANYWAY, I CALLED THE FORD COMPANY AND COMPLAINED ABOUT MY LEMON CAR. THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THAT THEY MAKE SURE THAT I'M NOT GOING TO GET CHARGED FOR THE REPAIR, I SAID WHAT???
MY CAR IS 11 MONTHS OLD AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY.AND THIS REGIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER NAME PATTY ALSO TELL ME THAT SHE IS GOING TO SEND ME A CHECK FOR 2 MONTHS CAR PAYMENT. I'M NOT SATISFIED SO I CALL A LAWYER AND THE LAWYER WILL GET IN TOUCH WITH FORD COMPANY ON MY BEHALF.

Took my car to the dealership Jan 28, 2014. they said the clutch on the transmission needed to be replaced and it was done. Feb 4, 2014 took the car to Rich's Auto to have the car looked over and the noise had started up again. They took the car for a ride and said they do hear the noise when you accelerate. As the car is shifting it is making the noise. from there.
I called the rep from Ford Motor, Kiarra, to inform her what they had found. I am now taking the car to a different dealership to have it looked at. Kearra had said that Fiesta owner that had transmission fixed complained of the noises and that is expected. I explained that as I drove home it sounded like something was going to fall off. I am not driving my car until I take to the dealership on Tuesday. not sure it is safe to be driving. Kiarra made the apt at the dealership[.
