The same day I brought the car in for the recall on the latches. I informed Seeyle Ford that there were problems with the transmission.

The passenger door latch on my 2014 ford fiesta stopped working on Sunday morning. I had no way of being able to keep the door closed, so had to use a ratchet system to tie the door shut, and take it to the nearest dealer for repair. I was told that this was a common problem with a number of ford models, but that unfortunately my car was not included in the recall as it was too new. If Ford knows that this is an inherent safety issue, I find it ridiculous that I should have to pay for the repair, and am currently living in fear of other doors failing on my car, which has the significant potential to cause a serious accident. I was very fortunate that the latch failure occurred at home, and dread to think what would have happened if this had happened whilst driving.

door latch broke/wont stay close

my 2014 ford fiesta has a recall for my model but only if it was made at a certain plant and between certain months. My fiesta was made in 06/2013 and the recall only goes to 05/31/2013. thank goodness my car was parked when the latch broke, most recalls are stating the latches were rear door latches and the cars were in motion. This concerns me as I have my grandchildren all the time in the back seat of my car.true they are seat belted in in carseats/booster however this is very concerning to me.also ford said it would cost 400.00 to fix the one door.i think nhtsa needs to re look at all 2014 ford fiestas to be in recall what if this happens and there is a death/deaths associated with this problem.i will however drive around with my front door bungied corded shut til this matter is fixed
