I went to the dealer to check on a previous summited complaint. I waited two months and I was forgotten, no calls, no nothing.
The original complaints were written up again and I mentioned a new annoyance, that the ring gear in the transaxle was making a ringing noise on light throttle at thirty miles per hour and above and has gotten louder, (I am a retired master mechanic). It was scheduled for diagnostic drive.
I brought it in for diagnostics and it was found with a very noticeable whining noise as described by myself. I was told the dealership had to contact Ford engineering to get an judgement answer. (I need to replace the transaxle to repair the whining.) So I'm back to waiting again.
Update from Sep 12, 2018: Took the vehicle in for repairs, the transmission was removed and a total gear set replacement was done.
I witnessed the removal - the bearings and gears were scuffed and there was a blue tint on the bearing surface. The noise was not noticeable when the transaxle was cold but after driving fifteen miles it was noticeable. I called the dealer and told them the noise was still there, and I was told the repairs were made so now it is normal.
Poo.
