I would like to know if anyone has had this problem. I have had the Passenger Rear Quarter Panel blow out of my 2014 Ford Flex just yesterday. Each corner of the window is shattered and the center of the window is blown outward like it has exploded. I have 36,000 miles on it and I have only recently bought it used from Ford. However, while cleaning away the glass to tape a piece of cardboard over the window hole, I found where a rivet in the corner "Flashing" that runs from the back of the window around to where the hatch door meets had been over tightened and the plastic was broken. I also notice that there is a trim piece busted on the panel that surrounds the window. I can imagine that the constant stress caused by vibration of the vehicle driving at rates of speed consistent with our highway speed limits could cause the window to stress and break. Please let me know!! I am going to go directly to Ford with this myself. I have spoken with other glass companies and this is a problem with this window.

When ordering the window the glass supplier said will be over a week to get in. Why is that? Is there a high demand for this glass. Just mad that this is not covered under warranty. Even asked dealer to cover deductible but Ford said not to touch it at all. No one was within fifty feet of car and it just blew out. This was a defect in glass. Friend of mine that works at Ford engineering said could be that this is on cable and puts undue stress on the glass.

The rear window on the passenger side of the car exploded and shattered into a million pieces. The car is less than one month old. Called Ford dealer and was told to bring it in to the repair shop. Repair man called and said Ford denied the claim. Claims it was weather-related. Called Ford customer service on Monday morning and they absolutely refuse to pay for the repair. They said it is one-in-a-million and they have had no other complaints. It is not like we have a choice. We have to repair the window. It will cost about $500. I feel like the car company is sticking it to us and I just cannot believe they will make us eat the cost. It does not serve them and it makes for really bad press. Any thoughts?

Driver's side rearmost window. Thought someone with a mower threw a rock but the window blew out. All 4 corners are gone along with a hole in the center. This has to be mfg. defect. Maybe the tint has something to do with it? We bought this used 6 mo ago and had to replace the windshield because of a water leak and the only way to fix the leak was to replace the windshield. The dealer says sorry but no help. I think we got a lemon!
