In the middle of winter, the heating system in my car decides to not work any more and we can't figure out why. The fuses seem to be intact and of course this happens at the worst possible time, when chicago is at below zero degrees. Anyone got any ideas on what's goin on?

I love my Ford Focus. but a couple of years ago the heater started turning off by it self and not starting. I would have to put it on "high" and hit the side of the dashboard from the passenger side and it would start. Last year I asked the mechanic / auto shop teacher at my old high school, and he said it was the blower motor. Canadian winters are cold, so I was concerned, that I needed to replace it, but since then, I've been using it in "medium" and "low" still keeps me warm, and defrosts the windshield. But most important, It starts.
-- Ford used cheap plastic parts to keep the price of the car down, so people could buy them easily. I just wish the replacements weren't so overpriced.
