problem #3

Focus SE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,000 miles

I dashed inside my friends home and back to my car in approximately 48 seconds, and the key would not turn the ignition. Then the steering locked. I was not in a parking lane. I spent 90 mins fiddling with this issue. Disconnecting the battery, searching for what I thought was a factory anti theft device I could disable. To no avail, I had to tow my car home costing 125.00. I read all the complaints and I hope to use a hammer to slightly hit the key and see if that will work. Hope it does. Needless to say, I would love to be part of the petition to sue Ford for not doing a recall on this issue. We cannot be all lying about the same issue. I do not know you guys. But here I am with the problem. This is not a made up story.

Focus

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

It took 3 years and $1500 out of pocket to finally solve a steering noise that started in 2004 on a gently used 2000. And now in 2007 I am again getting the same symptoms.

Focus SE 2.0L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 59,000 miles

Rack had to be replaced at 59,000 miles, driven by elderly lady. Not abused! Two Mechanics agreed that it needed replacement, but they had never heard of one needing to be replaced that soon! What a piece of junk!
