I was rolling my window down late one very cold evening and it was frozen shut. Before I could fully realize what was happening, i heard a loud crack and pieces of something fall down in the door, but a loud clunk as the window dropped to the bottom of the inner door as well. Needless to say, it was a cold ride home. I managed to prop it up the next day with a piece of wood, but it falls often, and had to keep my driver side door torn apart, while I figured out what to do. slowly but surely I put together that it was the plastic clips that attach the window clips to the regulator that was broken and NOT the entire regulator, as everyone seemed to be insinuating. I went on ebay and found a store that sold the clips , normally would've went to my local junkyard, but considering removal process and the pandemic, I looked online, and purchased the driver side pair for $7. instead of $50-150$. had to share!

Well, I am on my second window regulator. I can't believe there are no re manufactured ones available. You have to buy a new one everytime the plastic piece breaks, which is becoming more frequent. Just replaced the left rear last December, and now the right one is broke. 60,000 miles and you can't keep the windows up! I hope Ford has fixed this in the new Focus. I'll never find out cause I wouldn't buy another one.

I love this car, but have you ever been driving down the interstate and open up a rear window for fresh air and the window disappears? so you get the window back up and put something against it to keep it from falling down, then not even a month later the same thing happens to the other rear window. common designers whats going on. create something to better keep your windows in place. anyone wants to steal anything out of my car all they have to do is push down on the windows. get it fixed!!!!!

Me and my ex both have the 2000 Ford Focus and both cars have the same problem the stupid cheap piece of sh*t plastic clips that hold our windows on their tracks have broken and in both cars three out of the four windows are broken!!! Being help up by a number of things tape, door stop, and wood stick. After reading others complaints I am saddened but assured that ford has made a crappy choice in going cheap! The time has come for the both of us to get new cars and with out ford offering and help in the area of the windows I am thinking of looking else where when buying a new car!!!

Rear passenger window just went. I know the exact problem, as this is the 3rd window that has fallen victim to this failure (previously driver's side front and driver's side rear).

I intend to fix this myself by permanently fixing the window closed rather than shelling out another $350 (which would bring me close to $1000 in repairs to keep the windows working on my $10k car).

Three of the windows do not work now. Used broken yard sticks to keep them up. When I called to see how much it would cost to fix they said $100 to look at them and most likely $100 per window. What a crock and now to find out that mine is not the only one. Ford is going to get an email.

Three months ago, my back right window fell. I was unable to get it to stay up. So I went to Ford, they priced the repairs at $400.00. I had the window fixed by a local mechanic for $350.00. Three days later, kid you not, I was driving down the interstate and my right window fell. This time i was able to keep it up by pushing it up. Until today, when my friend's girlfriend asked to borrow it because her Jeep Cherokee was in the shop. When she shut the door, the window fell and shattered, spraying her with glass. Two windows same car.

There is a tiny cheap plastic piece on the part holding the window to the track that has broken on 3 out of 4 windows on my car. Each time it cost 150 dollars JUST for the replacement parts and I installed them myself because I can screw it up just as much as the mechanics at Ford can. It would be entirely easy and inexpensive for Ford to make this part out of a more durable material so that this problem never occurs. At the very least Ford could just sell the small replacement part so that I don't have to buy the entire system (tracks and motor). I have to return a perfectly good motor every time and it is such a waste. I don't even use my windows (at least the back two that broke first) very often. I can only imagine how often I would have to repair them if I actually used them! This is cheap and Ford should do a recall and take care of the problem. If 3 out of 4 of mine broke I am quite certain others have had this problem as well! I love my car and my family has been rather dedicated Ford owners but crappy craftmanship will only cause them to lose more and more customers.
