have already replaced rear drum bearing, its a mickey mouse set up with the bearing pressed into the drum most cars have the bearing in the spindle assembly, now the left front spindle bearing is gone, makes a rumble noise at all speeds they don't make cars to last any more this is my first and last ford i will own. these cars are cheap throw aways. i hope i can dump it off and at least get what i paid back.

I purchased the car with only 21106 miles on it and I have replaced a lot of hardware on this car. Every time I took my car back to the dealer they would not give me a car and the car was usually there for two days. I had to walk to work which was not really bad, but it was a good that I live a mile and a half from work. I have had to borrow my sister's car a couple of times because I have to travel. I have replaced wheel bearings , bushings, struts, and three set of tires on the back of the back of the car in a year and five months time. And currently I need to take it back because there is a lot of noise when I hit a bump. When I had the struts replaced the front end made squeaking noises. Called the dealership and the manager stated that it may take a couple of days for the struts to be seated. But it still makes the noise. All repairs were done before the car had 19000 miles. I also replaced power steering pump and valve cover gasket. There is still some problem because when I turn on the heat there is some odor. The back end still is making some noises and I have to replace another tire on the passenger rear. That would be four tires in a year and a half.

Purchased brand new tires October 2009, was getting ready to go on a trip when I noticed both rear tires were extremely worn. I took the "back roads" and traveled the 200 miles, went right to the place where I bought the tires. They told me the tire wear was because the bushings were "falling out" and I should not drive the car. They would not sell me new tires because if the problem was not fixed the tires would just wear out. I had to get back home for work and a doctor appointment, so I drove it back the 200 miles and the next day took it to a collision shop, where I was told that the bushings were not falling out, in fact it was safe to drive except for the bald tires!
I was told by two different mechanics that the Focus is known to have problems with the cams and bushings needed for performing an alignment, they tend to freeze up and can only be removed by breaking them, making the repair cost approx $1500. I am currently looking for a new vehicle, and it will not be a Focus!
