Focus ZX5

Dealer has no interest in fixing problem, and says that it is a common defect with 4-cyl. Ford 5-speeds. At launch from a stop light, the problem sounds like "pinging" but is actually termed gear roll-over. Sounds like there is a bag of bolts in the trans. case. Unit seems to peform properly, just sounds horrible. I'm defnitely worried about resale as any would-be buyer would hear this and question it... Try out any Toyota, Honda, etc. and you will not experience this annoying defect.

I'm a die-hard Ford guy, but sometimes I really wonder about this brand...
