It started 3 years ago with the button for the trunk not doing anything so my trunk was always unlatched..then it started latching again but the DOOR AJAR light was always on..the one day we load up on a very hot day to go for a nice cool dip and I'll be damned if the POS wasn't freakin stuck shut... no dip for us...nope still stuck shut with all our swimsuits towels rafts and floaties and its the start of summer!! GO FIGURE!!! ITS A FORD... Fix Or Repair Daily... and it doesn't fix or repair...HUNK O JUNK

Focus SE Wagon

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,690 miles

Bought my 2003 Focus used Sept 2006. Three year factory warranty was about to expire so I bought the "ExtraCare" warranty for almost $1000. Five months later couldn't use the remote or the interior button to open the rear door (station wagon). The wire harness had to be replaced which was covered by warranty, however, four months later the hatch or latch actuator died, not covered by warranty! To repair will cost over $500. It's stupid that the wire harness (covered by warranty) which connects to the actuator is not covered. go figure??
