This problem started showing up after about 30k miles. I had the car in to a Ford dealership to have it checked for this problem and another. They never really came to a conclusion or solution for this problem, although they were able to duplicate the problem. There was a part replaced for the other problem and it sort of negated this surging issue. But now it is this year, 50k miles, and same stupid problem happening again. When I'm driving at highway speeds (55-75) steadily, there is no notice of this surging. But when I coast down through a town and just gently touch the accelerator to smooth the speed out to 30, there is a noticable surging sensation from the engine. I have a manual transmission, so I can feel the character of the engine for almost everything. I can't see the difference in the tach or see the difference on the speedo, but I can feel it in the car and through the seat. Anytime I am gradually accelerating around 25-50 mph, I can feel this anoying surging. So, what's the problem? Dirty/faulty MAF senser? Leaking EGR valve? Faulty TPS? Something to do with fuel delievery. I never have had a check engine light come on for this problem or the other, so there is nothing going out of preset computer sensor range to trip a fault code. Stupid nuisance. My 06 Kawasaki Ninja runs much better. But then it would, it's not plagued with stupid eviro-regulation devices and controls.
