My rear light assembly melted around the light bulb so I had to replace the whole assembly instead of just a $2.00 bulb. I see I am not the only one who has had this problem. I've replaced rear light assemblies 3 times now over the past 3 or 4 years and just noticed yesterday that I now have the same problem with both my headlight assemblies. They are still working but it is only a matter of time before they go. The passenger side headlight looks like there has been a small electrical fire as it looks burnt, is melted and has a hole above the light bulb itself. The drivers side isn't quite as bad yet but also looks melted and has a hole above the bulb. When I went to get my oil changed yesterday the young man working there pointed this out to me. This post is dated 2011 as that is approx. the time my first tail light assembly went. I can't recall when I replaced one the second time but the third time was just last year (2013) and now in June 2014 I have the issues with my headlights. I will enter two more posts for these to show the dates.

I need help figuring out where to look for this problem. The brake lights are staying on while driving... hence... No brake light when stopping!! They work fine if the vehicle is in park, but fail to work properly if in gear. Anyone know where to start with this one??

I could not change the $2 turn-signal bulb that burned out because the housing melted around the socket and it was stuck together. Dealer charged me $240 to replace the entire tail lamp housing. Dealer tried to get me to have both tail lamp housings replaced at $470. I declined on the other housing until it needs a bulb. Why would I replace it if it is going to melt again and I don't need to replace the bulb yet?

I can't understand why a failure in the manufacturing of the car would not be covered. This is NOT normal wear and tear. The car is melting!
