Bought this car and was told nothing was wrong with it. 36-48 hours after having the car on the road I went out with some people. Late at night getting ready to go home I realize I don't have lights on my dash. People I was with mentioned I don't have taillights either. Checked for reverse lights as well. Nothing. Only had brake lights. Checked the fuses and it was blown. A friend of mine who is a mechanic had a couple in his vehicle. We tried 3. They just kept breaking. We unplugged my license plate light. I had taillights. Getting ready to take off I sit in the car and it smells hot. I mention it to my friend he said he doesn't smell anything. (Also pregnant thankful for pregnancy nose) he gets his flashlight out and sees smoke coming out of my dash. I turned off the car and little do we know the wiring caused a shortage which lead to a fire in the wires. I now have no reverse lights, taillights, brake lights or even headlights due to this. The wires were very fried. Go back the next morning to get the vehicle now that it's daytime and don't need the lights. I step on the brake and shifter is stuck. Turns out the wire that caught fire was the wire to my brakes. If the brakes don't register as being used my shifter will not move. All of this within 3 hours of searching and trying and 36-48 hours after buying the vehicle. I am currently sitting at the place we went out to waiting on a tow truck to get me so I can take my car home. There are recalls for fire hazards in these vehicles but since I don't have the letter my car is not recalled. Very frustrating. I was supposed to be able to trust this vehicle to drive my child around but until it gets fixed and for sure figured out that's not happening. I am now out a car and still have work to attend, appointments to go to and food to buy.
