I have bought a Ford vehicle before and the same thing happened with that vehicle. After about 5 years of owning the vehicle the a/c starts going out and eventually just blows hot air!!! I went and had the the a/c recharged and they couldn't find a leak. That recharge lasted for about 2 months and then I took it into the dealer to have them look at it they said they put a dye in it and recharged it again but couldn't find a leak either. They told me to bring it back if it started to blow hot air again. It lasted for another 2 months so I took it back to the dealer. This time they FINALLY found a leak in the evaporator which is behind the dashboard. They said it would cost $1654.00 to have it replaced!!!!! I was completely dumbfounded and shocked.

I think my latest Air Conditioner diagnosis is now correct. I feel my original diagnoses were incorrect.
About 2 years ago, my A/C unit was blowing warm air and I had my Air Conditioner tested and no leak was detected and my A/C unit was recharged for about $ 150 on 7/30/16. About a couple months later, my A/C was blowing warm air again. The following season, I then brought it back in and had a new condenser put in for over $ 600 on 8/22/17. About a couple months later, it was blowing warm air again.
I brought it back in the following year due to the seasonal change since it was blowing warm air again. Then my system was recharged at no cost as I believe I paid $ 10 for the A/C Performance Check. I bought it back in about 1 month later for further testing and the A/C was still working and no leak was detected. It was working however it was not optimal.
Then about a month later I brought it back in due to it blowing warm air and they detected an issue with my Evaporator Core and the estimated cost is $ 1,200.00. Basically I paid $ 800 for a misdiagnosis and my A/C doesn't work. I know it is probably a tough issue to detect, but I will no longer go to place that serviced it anymore. I would have thought I would have received a credit on the latest estimate but nothing was given. I'm no longer going to come back due to the issue not being resolved. Basically it would cost me $ 2,000.00 for the A/C repair.
