Focus SE 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Dealer replaced the compressor, doesn't work as good as it did before the problem. Took it back in, they said it was in spec and that if it worked like other model years that the car wouldn't run" ie, little motor, little compressor.

A/C stopped blowing cold air- went to Ford dealer- No help, said out 2 weeks for appt and not covered under warranty so went to a Mr Tire and they said compressor locked up and burnt up belt. Had it fixed. Ford has terrible customer service. This should not happen in a 2 year old car. Mileage prevented warranty coverage. Still, this will be my last Ford.

Turned on the a/c after starting the vehicle and it blew cold just a few seconds and then stopped blowing cold air. Took it to the dealer and they had to replace the compressor and belt. They said the compressor locked up and threw the belt. Luckily it was still under warrantly and therefore no charge.

Focus S

When I bought my new 2012 Ford Focus the A/C was completely busted before I even got it home. Apparently the oil that's supposed to be in the refrigerant was never put in on the assembly line, a serious problem! My A/C compressor needed to be replaced along with a few other damaged components. This is definitely a problem trend according to my mechanic!

Focus S 2.0L 4-cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 175 miles

I leased this vehicle on 10/08/11. At the time it had 95 miles on the clock. On 10/09/11 only one day of having the car, and only have 175 miles on it the a/c compressor seized up causing the vehicle to stall when coming to a stop. I immediately took the vehicle back to the dealer on Monday and they replaced the a/c compressor under warranty.

UNACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW VEHICLE They said the someone at the factory forgot to put PAG oil in the compressor and it ran dry and locked up.
