Noticed after rain I had water in my car.after careful inspection by my son, he noticed the sunroof, was rotting out.I called Ford in claremont, nh and they said bring it in. Finally got it in and said nothing was wrong, it continued to have water in every time it rained.finally after a rain storm, I had a hail ding and found over 2 inches of water in the 2 cup holders in the console.called Ford, said bring it in, after I took pictures of the rotting seal, I took the car in, this time I have about 4500 miles on the car & it's 2 yrs old.they finally admitted to a problem and would have to get an ok from the mfg to replace under warranty, I have bumper to bumper & extented.took over 2 weeks for ok then they had to order the part.it has now been over 7 weeks and my car isn't fixed.more rain due tonight, lastnight I covered her with a tarp. Today, I dropped off the car after return. From vacation and my car sustained 3 feet of water inside from storms and my son tried in vain to protect my car, he covered it in plastic, cleaned out the water, ect... called Ford, he had the car and my poa...they had the part before I left July 1, never called me, worried now how much electrical damage could be since water reached the radio, gear shift, speakers, interior electric window & controls, ect...my car just now has 7500 miles on it.only because I let my son drive it while I was away for 2 weeks.my car was purchased new 3/24/2012 it's just now 27 months old! as you can see I don't drive far, I live in a small town and work in the same area, if I have to commute, it's in a company vehicle not mine.

Chrome plating is peeling away from steering wheel air bag edges. Edges are sharp and can cut through skin. Could be possible to puncture airbag?

The chrome metallic trim on the steering wheel began peeling off around the edge. Pieces of sharp metal cut into my fingertips on a number of occasions.
- Elkins, WV, USA
Chrome trim on steering wheel peeling away from plastic - results in very sharp metal protruding from edge of steering wheel. I was not injured, but it was very possible that I could have been badly cut by the sharp metal.

Flaking chrome from around steering wheel, cutting fingers.
- Pacheco, CA, USA
Metallic steering wheel trim is peeling at the top left side of steering wheel. Peeling material is very sharp and can easily cut skin, as it did to me and many others as seen online after doing a simple search for "Ford Focus peeling steering wheel trim". I'm also concerned that in rare circumstances the airbag itself could be cut by the sharp trim when deploying.

The chrome trim on my steering wheel has begun to crack and flake off. I did not notice at first and had my finger run along it. The trim is cracked medal and is very sharp. I have not yet cut myself enough to draw blood but have stuck, stabbed, and caught my finger on it embedding a piece of chrome trim in my finger like a sliver. This is a widespread issue documented on multiple Focus forums, and by other 2012+ Ford Focus owners. This seems to only be an issue that is on 2012+ SE sport packages. This is very frustrating, it makes driving the car difficult because in my case it is right above my steering wheel mounted radio buttons and catches my hand easily. Ford is doing nothing about this in my case and actually blaming me for it, but in other cases has both replaced other owners pieces and in some cases like mine done nothing. This is very dangerous as many people in the forums have stated they cut themselves good enough to bleed. One even said his wife now refuses to drive the car. Ford refuses to fix this because it would require them to warranty an airbag since they decided to make the airbag and trim one piece. Because of this myself and others will continue to cut our fingers, hopefully not very seriously. Thank you for reading this.

Chrome peeling away from plastic leaving sharp edges where fingers are on steering wheel peeling is bi lateral on the top part of the area where the controls are for the sync and vehicle data controls. Running hand across this section of the steering wheel can result in jerking the hand away because of the sharp edge.

2012 Ford Focus. Consumer writes in regards to trunk lid, wiring and water flowing down rear window the consumer stated when the trunk was activated, the lid went from fully closed to fully opened at a high velocity in a very short period of time. The wiring routed to the inside of the trunk lid, was hanging down, and when it rained, water flowed down and through the gaps between the bottom of the window and the top of the trunk lid.
