Today is the second time that my car had this problem. My car was not turned on but suddenly it started shaking & rattling and making loud noises. My friend was with me in the car, so I have proof that it happened. I phoned the dealership today to book an appointment as this happened once before. Since they couldn't find anything, they said they couldn't do anything. So now the warranty period has expired and now it is happening again.
It is very frightening as it seems the car is going to explode and I was afraid to put the key in the ignition. I opened the doors and closed them and opened the trunk and closed it hoping the car would stop shaking and making noises. I see that someone in KY had the same problem. I was told by the service department that I was to bring the car in and they would try to recreate the problem. How can they do that. I don't even know how the car made all the noises and shook when I didn't even start it. It was definitely scary and my friend didn't really want to get into the car but had to as it was the only way to get home. I'm taking my car in Monday to see what is wrong with it. Hopefully they will not tell me that they could not recreate the problem!!!!
I have had so many major things go wrong with my car and it is only 4 yrs old.

One year ago - after exiting the car - everything off - the car began making a loud banging sound. It sounded like the car was going to blow-up. I took it into the dealer. The only problem they could find was a leaky seal but they were not sure that was the problem and they could not recreate the problem. Today - while driving the car, it began doing the same thing - it did not lose power, but was scary enough that I pulled off the road. The dealer wants to "look at it" again.

I entered my garage this morning, opened the driver side door enough to enter the car when it started to make loud noises similar to engine knock. The car was shaking for a period of 1 to 2 minutes. I panicked & ran back into the house to get my husband to see what was going on. There was no key in the ignition at the time of the noise. My husband opened the hood & checked to see if he could see any problem. Nothing obvious was found. He moved the car outside to the parking lot to avoid the risk of fire or an explosion. We called the dealership & they said they never heard of this problem before. We will bring the car in & get it checked Monday morning.
