Focus SE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 34,000 miles

I am sorry that I bought an American made vehicle. In the past I always drove a foreign car and had little to no problems. I cannot say the same about my Ford Focus. At 34000 miles my air condition stopped blowing cold air. I brought it in and told them I did not have time to bring the car in to be fixed but wanted it fixed under the warranty whenever I had time to bring the car in for repairs. Being that it was still under Warranty. The dealership said SORRY but if you do not leave your car with us now it will not be covered. I have to work to pay for the car and need a car to work. Therefore I could not leave it at that time.

When I had time to bring the car in to be diagnosed I was over the 36000 mile mark so it was no longer covered under warranty even though it failed before 36000 miles. I was told it would cost over $300 to be repaired. They said it was a bad cooling system sensor. I then went to a local automotive repair shop and they said it could be repaired for $160. So not only does the Dealership where I purchased my brand new Ford Focus not honor the warranty, they want to charge me double the price to fix the defect.

I think the Denham Springs dealership should honor the warranty since I brought it to their attention while still under warranty. I have to work 50-60 hours a week to make ends meet and it is very hard to find the time to bring my transportation in for repairs. I bought the new car so I would not have problems.
