Could not turn off radio two times recently. Pushed the off button and turned the engine off and got out of the car and the radio was still on.

My radio for a month has been going in and out, static noise. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesn't. I haven't had it for a year. Took it to Ford, they said $800.00. I'm like wtf, that radio should be a recall.

I have the same problem as many others have apparently. Cracking and popping through the speakers even when there is no key in the ignition . Progressively got worse until now the radio won't play.

2013 Ford Focus radio cuts off after 20 minutes or won't come on at all. Sometimes without the radio on there will be a static blast, enough to startle a driver. Any suggestions?

I have a 2013 Ford Focus. It started making a popping noise and major static. Now the radio all it does is major static and cant listen to the radio. It is very loud, and has to be fixed. I called the dealer and want to charge $130 just to look at it and that does not include fixing the problem. I do not care how old the car is they should honor their defect and fix it with no cost. I am so upset and frustrated. I don't even want to drive my car anymore because the noise is so loud and annoying.

white noise from radio
The radio makes this noise static thump even when the radio is off and or while the car is off..... Was almost in an accident because it did the noise and scared the crap out of me. so now I am always on guard waiting on it to happen. It is very loud like a white noise(sound like cant find a radio station) with a thump that is heart pounding. I have appointment to go to dealer

The radio will either go completely silent while appearing to be on, or there is sometimes a loud pop and then silence. The Bluetooth will stay lit up like it is going to work if the phone I have synced in rings, but there is not any sound. At times, my car will just kick my phone off completely, when this happens. I never know when it will happen, and it has been very startling to me and my passengers when it pops. When this happens if I am able to pull over and turn the ignition off and back on, the radio will suddenly work again, but I never know for how long. At times when the windshield wipers are being used this is a little more frequent in occurrence, and they will at times hang half open, or half closed when being turned off. They will usually fix themselves when I turn them off and back onto low, but it is extremely irritating. I keep thinking one day they may not work at all, or they will not unhang after use.

radio seems to be shorting out
I've got a 2013 Ford Focus; the radio has started doing the same thing as you describe, a few months back... and it is getting worse. I need to pull the fuse so it doesn't drive me crazy or make me go deaf when the speakers start to crackle and pop without warning ,even when the radio is off. I lose everything ... radio, Bluetooth (phone); the only way to get it back is to shut the car off, open the door, close the door, start the car. I've been doing it at Red lights. People must wonder if I'm weird, or realize it may be the car he's driving. Not sure where to go with this, but the car is under 3 years old, and shouldn't be having such problems. I see others have had the same problem ... this is a problem Ford is having that is a flaw in their vehicles ... Makes me think twice about buying another Ford, even though my last two cars I bought brand new, both Focuses ...

My 2013 Ford Focus is a piece of junk! I bought this car brand new, but it has given me problems with the transmission, door latches, and now the radio. Ford had recalls on the transmission and door latches and should have a recall on the radio. The radio would have a popping sound, then I wouldn’t hear a sound. I would turn the engine off and back on again to make the radio work again. This has been going on since November 2017, and I have taken my car to the dealership 5 tines. I have taken the car to the dealership again today, and the service advisor told me I needed to replace the ACM which will cost $649.07. The ACM is on back order 2-3 weeks, and hopefully, Ford will have a recall on the radio. This Ford car is such a pain in the ass because it has given me so much trouble! I’ll never buy another Ford car again!
