The issue has happened 3 times since I have owned the car. The car was shaking when I would push on the gas. There was a delay with exceleration. I was driving on the city street and the car would not excelerate the transmission was not changing gears. I had to coast down the street to make it to somewhere I could pull over. Once stopped the car would not go into any gear and would not drive. I had the car towed to the Ford dealership each time I was told that it was the transmission control module and the clutch that needed to be replaced.

My Ford Focus 2013, has been fixed two times and the same problem is reoccurring. I have called customer service and they weren't very helpful and it is difficult to reach them. The car shutters upon accelerating. It is unsafe to drive as stated in the recall. I have been told that warranty is expired. This has been a lawsuit before and I strongly believe that the warranty that I had previously when fixing the Ford should apply this time as well. My car is currently in a Ford dealership waiting to get fixed, but I do need the clear that warranty will cover it since this is the third time this has happened. I should be able to rely on my car and not be worried if it will start.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus SE. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph the transmission suddenly downshifted from an automatic six speed to a speed of approximately 35 mph. The cause of the failure has not been diagnosed. There were no consequences the contact called the manufacturer from the side of the road. They advised that the vehicle was covered under an extended warranty but the contact would have to pay for towing to the dealer. The vehicle was driven to the dealer jc lewis Ford (9505 abercorn St, savannah, ga 31406 (912) 210-5692) where the transmission module was reprogrammed under an extended warranty. The vehicle was test driven but no issues were found. The vehicle however experienced the same issue the same day it was returned to the contact. She had to schedule another an appointment with the dealer to re-inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was 29,000.

While at a stop light on a busy street my car jerks and then gets quiet, when the light changes to green I hit on the gas pedal and the car does not move, no matter how hard I press, I turn on my emergency lights and after about 3 mins the car finally moves but while driving once again I hit on the gas pedal to increase speed and it does not work, I decide to turn around in a small parking lot and take it home and while doing that the car doesn't reverse, I get it back on the road and it jerks and jumps to the point where I just had to park it and call a ride. The week prior a mechanic told me I just needed coolant after the car jerked and stalled on the highway while I was going 70mph, and now every time I bring the car to a complete stop it doesn't move once it's time to accelerate, I've had it stall in heavy traffic where cars where bumper to bumper and I could not move. All of this after I had the ECU flashed to fix the codes, the entire engine and head gaskets replaced, the fuel pump system and transmission fixed by Ford. So I took it to a mechanic to get it diagnosed and they inform me of multiple problems such as a new thermostat and air bag deployment issues but the main problem is that I need a new transmission again, unfortunately the cars value is not worth what it will cost to fix the transmission again.

Ford has sold a car to millions of people that is unsafe for the road. I've had numerous occasions of failures with the transmission where it will suddenly not accelerate, causing undue danger my family and myself. This car should be fully recalled to replace the transmission in its entirety. The failure by the NHTSA to do so even years after the problem was known with the dps6 transmission is a absurd lack of safety oversight. My wife and child were almost hit by a tractor trailer due to the car not accelerating pulling into traffic, this is far from the first instance. They could have easily died from this and other occasions. My family is scared to be in this vehicle after numerous occasions of similar situations happening. Every day you do not do a full recall, you risk more lives being in danger.

I have own a 2013 Ford Focus and when I try to accelerate, it seams the car revs up but doesn't go any faster. That doesn't happen all the time but when it does it's scary to think that I might get rear-ended when I'm switching lanes on the freeway. The car also switches gears a little rough. Something definitely feels off about this transmission.

At 9:30pm on May 12th 2016 I was driving on I-5 through downtown seattle going approximately 60 miles an hour in the far left lane, when the gas pedal dropped all the way to the floor and I completely lost power. I had to change across 4 lanes of traffic while my vehicle was steadily losing power to exit at mercer St. From there I barely made it to the side of the road on westlake ave where a tow truck picked me up. Following that experience I have had to take my car to have the clutch/transmission repacked 5 times!!! each time when the clutch is starting to fail, it shudders, shakes and loses power. I am afraid of it losing power in a intersection and being T-boned by another vehicle (this has happened to other owners of these cars). Ford is responsible for fixing this, however they have not taken responsibility and here I and about 4 million other customers are left with lemons! hold Ford accountable for their faulty transmission/clutches from 2011-2016 fiesta/focuses, all I want is a dependable car that will last more than 4 years and 68,000 miles.
