The vehicle was taken to scaffidi motors parts department (3733 stanley St, stevens point, wi 54481, (715) 344-4100) where the area around the locking mechanism was cleaned. The contact was informed that the cleaning may not fix the failure. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was made aware oft the failure. The contact was informed that the failure was not covered under a recall. The approximate failure mileage was 42,900.
