I was pulling out of my daughter's driveway Saturday morning around 9:30am onto a busy road and my car completely dies. I'm worried about being rear ended and can't tell you how much traffic backed up from people having to go around me. I contacted the police when a couple pulled over and pushed my vehicle off onto a side road. My key was turning. You could hear the engine trying to crank over but it just wouldn't. I had lights outside and inside the vehicle and I had 302 miles until E so I knew I wasn't out of gas. I had to wait in my vehicle for 45 minutes for a tow truck with the temps outside being in the high 20's / low 30's. The trip to KenTowery's was $71.00.

Once there he hooked my car up to a jumper box and determined that it wasn't the starter, battery or accelerator. He said that it wasn't getting either fuel or fire. Trying to get ahold of a dealership really tested my patience but eventually I was able to have the car towed to a dealership off of Preston Hwy. I used Ford's Roadside Assistance so that didn't cost me anything.

I didn't get a call on my vehicle until Tues morning to let me know that the fuel pump had gone bad. The fuel pump in a car 2 years old with less than 37,000 miles on it! She said that the PowerTrain warranty would cover the cost of the fuel pump but I am responsible for $105.00 to have the fuel pump reprogrammed.

I noticed there was a recall on the 2014 Ford Focus' fuel pumps for this exact same issue. I wonder if thios should be extended out to the 2015's.
