The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated after refueling. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the canister purge valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to call NHTSA. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Engine light on. Fuel Tank Deformed, defective canister purge valve. Ford doesn-€™t want to do the service for safety recall 18S32. Ford dealership did not inspected the parts associated for safety recall 18S32 in February 2019 and noted that our vehicle is not part of the recall. Engine light when on June 2021 related to safety recall 18S32 but Ford will not fix it.
