[xxx] 2004 Ford Freestar has a torque converter recall which may cause the vehile to stall at suddenly without warning. As I was driving freeway speeds the van suddenly lost power as I was in the #3 lane on the bay bridge. With that being said, I tried to get to the safest location possible. Then had it towed to michael stead Ford and the diagnosis states that the torque converter doesn't resolve the issue. With the sudden loss of power and failure of the torque converter it lead to additional parts to be damaged and Ford Motor Company wont cover the damage information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

While driving the vehicle on the highway at 65 mph the vehicle lost power and died scaring my wife and I tremendously. When I contacted the dealership they said bring in the vehicle so they could look it over. 3 days later they called to say come in for the vehicle and told me they could find nothing wrong.I took it to a private mechanic and he changed the computer mod thinking that was the problem. We assumed it was fixed because no trouble for about 2 months. Then while driving on the highway again it sputtered and died. This has happened 10-15 times since and if I wasn't a professional driver a couple of times we could have been in a horrible accident. I again went to a family mechanic and he informed me about the torque converter being on a recall for this make and model, then looking it up by my VIN it shows its not involved but how can it not be if the described problem is exactly what happens? tell me where I should go to get this replaced. God help Ford Motor Company should anything horrific should happen to my family

I was pulling out of my driveway, and my 2004 Ford Freestar limited keeps acting like it's not catching the gears correctly to shift. When my brother drove it later the same day he said it sounds like the torque converter was messing up in the transmission. He is an auto mechanic. It has about 90,000 miles. I just bought this van earlier last yr around April 2017, is there still a recall on this? thanks [xxx] at [xxx] or [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My van has a problem with water, that is when it rains the vehicle starts having problems with several components. (ie engine misfire, transmission fails to shift properly, door looks refuse to operate properly, among other weird things) this happens every time it rains. The problem as I have being able to trace it, is that the water that comes off the front windshield and into the plastic that covers the cowl area ( where the wipers are) drips on to the main electric wire harness connection that comes from the inside of the car and connects to the engine bay wire harness. As the wire harness connector gets wet, the vehicle starts acting up. I took the van to my mechanic but he was unable to find a problem, it was dry. I took the vehicle to a Ford dealer and, to my surprise, they knew about the problem but told me I had to pay the repair because its covered on a technical service bulletin (tsb 06-14-10) but its not a recall. How can this not be a recall when the van is going along well and as soon as it starts raining, I start having drive ability issues, transmissions starts acting up, engine starts acting up, some times stalls, in general I have a vehicle that appears to be "allergic to water." This issue happens any time it stars raining heavily whether on the highway or city street or my driveway for that matter, if its raining I have to take my wife's car because if not I know will have to be dealing with an uncooperative vehicle. Ps. I put a date on the "when did this happen" field but this is an ongoing issue.

While driving my 2004 Ford Freestar minivan, at approximately 45mph (miles per hour), the vehicle begins to shudder as if I am driving over rumble strips and when climbing slight or steap inclined hills the shidder worsens. I purchased the vehicle ised from a car lot. I have moticed that all of the Ford Freestar roums state that there is a recall on the torque converter. I looked up my vinfor recalls and it states that there are no recalls fornmy vehicle. I wonder if the original recall has already been taken care of by the previous owner and the replacement part is faulty as the Ms. Azose V. Ford Motor Company class action lawsuit states it is. Any insight on this matter would be extremely helpful. Thanks
