Freestar 3.9L

This is been happening for 6 mos...of course it doesn't screech at all-each time I take it in to repair. It has a horrible screech..engine dies. almost have been hit by other cars. po340. I think it is the camshaft sensor synchronizer! I've taken it to 4 different auto repair places! Ahhhhhhh! I never want a Ford mini van as long as I live...better to buy Honda or Toyota!

Freestar

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

Check engine light has stayed on thru most of the 3 years that I've owned this used Freestar. Local repairman & Ford Dealer both say it's code is about the PCV valve, which is not cheap to replace. The local repairman has disconnected it twice & cleaned it & then it will go off for awhile. Then the light only comes on if the air is damp or rainy days. I feel like Penny on the Big Bang Theory show driving most everyday for 3 yrs w/this stupid engine light.
