Sudden loss of power to wheels @ 114,000 miles; Ford dealer: "you need to purchase a rebuilt transmission" this is the torque converter as known to NHTSA; demanded Ford refund, refused. Second Ford remanufactured transmission warranty not being honored with failure @ 93,000. Ford dealer: "replaced fuse, torque converter shudder; your van has over 200,000 miles on it!!" significant transmission vibration with steering shudder, re-diagnosed January 10, 2014; continuation of 93,000 failure and claimed repair. PCM failed at aprox. 85,000 miles; power steering leaks year after purchase @ 53,000 original miles. Ford dealer refuses repair/refund. All documents in possession.

12/10/13 and 12/11/13 mini van stalled on the road while driving 25 miles per hour. No warning light before hand. Loss of power steering and engine. Was told that it was an air flow control. Drove car home from dealership and stalled on the road home. PCM was replaced. 1/20/14 next two times car failed to start while in a parking lot or driveway. (was repaired) PCM was replaced again. 2/6/14 fourth stall was on an exit ramp of a major highway. Car was going 45 miles per hour and stalled. Loss of power steering and engine.

When I was driving a hill down, suddenly the engine and all electronic equipment stopped, warning lamp engine and battery flashes, steering wheel and brakes did not work correctly. I need about 1 mile to stop the car. After that the car could not be reactivated/started again. - cause for incident (Ford service): The motor control unit was filled with water after a rain.

1) sudden unexpected loss of power and all gears. Occurred while normally accelerating from a stop. Vehicle towed to Ford dealer. Dealer stated to replace entire transmission at cost of $2900 plus credit card interest. 2) sudden loss of power. Dealer replaced PCM at cost of $900. 3) powering steering fluid leak. 4) coolant leak. 5) persistent loss of air from wheel after replacing tire.

Driving down road city street (25 mph speed limit) on way home. Not raining outside. Temperature was about 85 degrees. Very high humidity. As approached intersection the vehicle suddenly shut itself off. Complete loss of power, power steering, and power breaking. Wife had trouble pulling over, but because were only going 20 mph at that point, we managed to pull over and stop car. We were only 2 blocks from home, so we restarted engine (which turned on without trouble) and drove home slowly (now with the check-engine light on). Dangerous situation, as it is incredibly difficult to control the vehicle without power steering or braking. If we had taken the interstate home instead of the way we went, we could have been driving at 70 mph onto an off ramp when it shut off. Very dangerous indeed.
