The contact owns a 2005 Ford Freestyle. While driving at approximately 10 mph, the vehicle made a humming noise in the rear of the driver side. The noise became louder when driving over 10 mph. The contact called the local dealer several times and left voice messages, but no one returned the calls. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained inoperable. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 15,000.

2005 Ford Freestyle sel. 76,000 miles. Right rear lower control arm sheered off from frame at mounting point while traveling at ~20 mph on residential street. The failure point was the sheet metal on the frame where the control arm attaches to, not the actual control arm.

Rear end noise started about 13000 miles ( sounding like a plane engine when you hit 40 mph). Dealer said tires were worn replaced all four tires plus alignment-dealer paid for two. Noise continued. Dealer then replace ball joints and rear brakes at 14000. Noise is gone.
