This Ford Freestyle is an excellent vehicle. We own Ford stock. It is particularly difficult for us to hear that this otherwise like new appearing Freestyle now looks ready for the scrap yard because of a problem Ford knew about for some time and did not address. Unless Ford makes good on this we will be out either the cost of the paint job, or about $1000 resale value according to a Ford salesman I talked with.
Come on Ford, do the right thing. Repaint these. That is what Toyota would do. That is why they are kicking your butt! Write it off as advertising.

This is the typical Ford aluminum hood paint issue that seems to affect all Ford vehicles. I tried to get it fixed under the Ford warranty but was denied because there was no perforation. Of course with aluminum hood paint corrosion there is never any performation. The peeling paint is on the leading edge of the hood. It is on the outer and inner part of the hood leading edge there the hood is "rolled" from a flat surface to become the hood edge. I would like to join the class action lawsuit mentioned on this site but can't seem to find any contact information. Can anyone supply this information?

Noticed about 1 year ago, the black paint on the driver side door is pealing away....on the edges...has anyone else had this problem and will the dealer fix it if out of warranty...

Ford has had an ongoing problem with it's aluminum hoods and paint bubbling along the front edge for an extended time but has not accepted blame unfortunately.
