This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
I have had this car less than a year and when the rains hit this winter I had more water in the back of my vehicle than the outside. Water was dripping or should I say pouring into the cab from the drivers side rear seat belt re-tractor hole. I hear this is a common complaint when you park on a slight slope of any kind.
I have the expensive ESP warranty from Ford and they wont cover it. Dealer say it will cast about $500 to fix.

Water leaking from rear (3rd row) seat belt pillar...must be coming from roof, and only when car is parked in sloped driveway...has anyone else seen this problem??? Is the lemon law an alternative??? still have 3 years on the loan...

Oh boy, started with mold smell, dealer couldn't find leak; I researched on internet and found out where to look; leaking from moonroof drainage hoses into rear seat belt well and soaking rear compartment; Mold smell terrible, did TSB to address and has not worked; have paperwork submitted for Lemon Law hearing; this is a very common problem in ford freestyles w/moon roof and the key is, if you park on a slope.

Water leaks. Carpets soaked and molded. A/C leak/ backup due to missing part. Fixed. Took 2 months to replace carpets. Still waiting for floor mats. New leaks. All carpeting soaked. Mold returning. Coming from roof??? Can't even drive car - allergic to mold. Have small kids. Dangerous to their health to be in car.

We have had lots of rain this summer and parked the car on the sloped driveway due to a garage project. Found sometimes 1-2 inch of water in the back section rubber liner or in the wheel well and were puzzled by the source. Last night I sat in the car during a big storm and found water pouring from the driver's side 3rd seat row seat belt hole and down the belt. We do have the sunroof and others have suggested this has something to do with the drainage tube to that so we will be checking and complaining to dealer soon.
Update from Aug 30, 2010: We were just charged over $800. Ford body shop had the whole roof liner and back assembly pulled out. LOTS of evidence of water coming in the sunroof and running back thru the ceiling until poured out the seat belt. They did find the drainage tube had a kink so they replaced it (this must have been there since the car was new.) Anyway, got the car back after 3 days. Parked it on the sloped driveway again and it rained the next night. We found the leak had not been fixed and just as much water was pouring in thru the far rear seat belt hole. When washed the car it came out thru that spot plus the passenger front dash. Back to the dealer today.
